There’s a lot to be said about In His Shadow. It’s all about sex and suspense. More sex leads to more suspense. At first, Ivy Mason is put off by one of her bank customers named Devon Clay. Then, she sees him kill someone and everything changes. Nothing is what it seems. She is drawn into a web of lies and espionage that all revolves around the pursuit of a biological weapon. As much as she should keep away from Devon, Ivy is drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Their sexual chemistry is several shades of grey and their own personal demons make you hope that they have a happily ever after.
Since In His Shadow is a romantic suspense, there is so much to know and so little that I can tell you. I was sucked in from the very beginning and read the book at lightning speed. I never had an idea as to what would happen with anyone no matter how many times I tried to guess. That says a lot because I can usually figure these things out fairly quickly. Ivy had been afraid of most men due to the tragic events of her childhood. However, she puts herself in imminent danger every time she is with Devon. Devon is part of a super secret British intelligence agency called “Shadow”. He has been connected to the deaths of a lot of people according to the FBI. He doesn’t show remorse, nor does he let his emotions get in the way of doing his job. I would say more but...This is one of the best romantic suspense books that I have read in while. I have read several Tiffany Snow books and had lost interest in her storytelling up until now. If this is a sign of things to come, she has earned a new fan.
