He controls the game, but she’s rewriting all the rules…
Marley Lake is no stranger to awkwardness, but getting caught watching a dirty GIF by the company’s hot new IT guy exceeds even her standards. That is, until she realizes he's as turned on by it as she is. But with a big promotion on the line, she refuses to let her current dry spell be her downfall. Maybe.
Austin Rivers has no business lusting after the irresistible editor of Gamers Magazine. He's a secret partner in the business—and technically Marley’s boss. One look at that GIF, though, and he’s ready to install a whole lot more than just software…as long as she never finds out who he really is.
But reality’s not as virtual as it seems, and when Austin’s identity jeopardizes Marley’s promotion, he has to change his game or risk losing the only woman with the cheat code to his heart.
I’ve been told not every hero is meant for me. True. Austin Rivers is definitely not the man for me. Don’t get me wrong, he has some good qualities. He’s rich, he cares about his friends, he’s very private, and he knows how to bring a woman to her knees. The first time Austin meets heroine Marley Lake face to face was a little creepy, in my opinion. He simply leaned on her office desk and stared at her. No words, just looked at her. I like my heroes to be a little more outgoing. You know, actually live in the world amongst people and actually talk. It took me a long while to realize that Austin is a little eccentric and is very much anti-social. But, Austin is perfect for Marley as she is equally perfect for him.
Marley Lake has spent the past several years working for Gamers Magazine and is now the head of the copy editing team. She’s outgoing, hard-working, a Comic-Con fanatic, and she loves this game called Aric’s Revenge. But things for Marley are about to get a little interesting.
You know....there’s a reason companies don’t like their employees to be on social media, while working in the office. There’s this thing called Tumblr and there are a lot of NSFW images there. Yeah, Marley got bored, looked at her account and saw a really naughty image. She also forgot to close out of the screen. Too bad for her, her computer decided to freeze up and she has one of those circle thingys. A call to the IT department produces the man she’s nicknamed DB (Dark and Brooding), otherwise known as Austin Rivers.
Remember the stare down? When Austin finally decides to get to working on Marley’s computer problem, he see’s the GIF she’s forgotten about.
“Do you like that?”
And so it starts....As a silent owner of Gamers Magazine, Austin knows he shouldn’t have anything to do with Marley. But his attraction to her is too intense and he wants to be the man she plays her fantasies out with.
Changing His Game is a classic workplace romance no-no, but modernized, without the usual “I know what’s going to happen” happening. It’s funny and seriously hot. When Marley and Austin are together they each come alive. She brings out his human side. With fantastic secondary characters, I would love to read more about, this is a good start to a new series.
