Favorites Giveaway Hop (February 6, 2016 to February 19, 2016)

Wow.  It’s hard to believe we’re already in the month of February.  As I’m preparing this post I’ve already read 13 books this year.  Okay, so some of them were short stories, but they still count.

This is a “Favorites” Giveaway Hop I’m giving to tell you about some of my favorite books so far this year.  I have four books that have received 5 star reviews from me.

The greatest pleasure comes from losing control…

Noah Caldwell has spent ten years biding his time for the chance to tell his best friend Raven Crowne the truth. He wants her. With the threat that brought him to her in the first place finally behind him, they begin a hot affair he's only dreamed about. And reality is far better than fantasy. Yet, beautiful Raven has her own dark history, one he's trying desperately to release from her. But as their passion deepens and turns into more, his past rises up from the shadows to claim one last victim…and Noah could lose the only person he can't live without.

They say the course of true love never runs smooth.
That’s nothing a magical cupcake can’t solve.

Julie
Buttercream. Vanilla. Fondant. Dark chocolate. Brown sugar. Molasses. Baking has always been my true love, but it wasn’t until my mother’s death, and the unexpected inheritance of Serendipity Gardens, that my bliss called me. Bittersweet. But Serendipity Gardens has more to offer than just a potential shopfront. An unusual recipe box left to me by a distant relative might be the key to unlocking my dreams.

Too bad the most powerful family in Chancellor has plans that could turn those dreams to ruins—literally.

Too bad the son of that powerful family is just the kind of guy I’ve been looking for.

Horatio
I suppose being heir to the Hunter family’s Blushing Grape Winery should make me happy, but nothing could be further from the truth. With my mother gone, my father has taken me under his wing, and I despise everything about the way he does business. Sour grapes, indeed. Instead of raising money for charitable causes, my true passion, I’m chasing my father’s manifest destiny.

Too bad his dream includes paving paradise.

Too bad the property owner is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met.

He needs the kind of rescue only she can provide…

Glass artist Savannah Smith expected a marriage proposal for Thanksgiving—just not from her strong, silent, super-hot neighbor. But when misplaced mail and a wayward can of paint lands them in a compromising position right as her family arrives for dinner, they assume he’s “The One” she’s been talking about.

Then his family shows up.

Fate dealt a crippling blow to paramedic Beau Montgomery’s heart, and he isn’t about to put it at risk again. Except, with his mother crying tears of joy over his surprise engagement to the sexy little blonde next door, he can’t bring himself to ruin her “Christmas miracle.”

Somewhere between the paint can to the head and the chaotic family trip to the ER, Beau manages to talk Savannah into being his fake fiancée long enough to survive the holidays.

If, of course, they don’t fall in love first…

Unlucky-in-love artist Annabelle Britton decides that a visit to the seaside town of  Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is the perfect way to get over her problems. But when she stumbles upon a smoky gray cat named Alastair, and follows him into a charming cottage, Annabelle finds herself in a whole spellbook full of trouble.
Suddenly saddled with a witch's wand and a furry familiar, Annabelle soon meets a friendly group of women who use their spells, charms, and potions to keep the people of Portsmouth safe. But despite their gifts, the witches can’t prevent every wicked deed in town....
Soon, the mystery surrounding Alistair’s former owner, who died under unusual circumstances, grows when another local turns up dead. Armed with magic, friends, and the charmed cat who adopted her more than the other way around, Annabelle sets out to paw through the evidence and uncover a killer.

I loved these four books for different reasons.

Exposure is a friends to lovers erotic romance with suspense elements.  The hero is sweet and caring.  He has this amazing strength with a mixture of courage and determination.  The heroine is multilayered and a little complexed.

Emergency Engagement is from one of my favorite authors, Samanthe Beck.  This book reminded me why I’m a fan of hers.  The story is about a fake engagement, but there’s a little surprise added to the story.  The characters are amazing.  In fact, I actually cried.  The book was everything I look for in a Brazen book.

The Cupcake Witch is completely different from Exposure and Emergency Engagement.  It’s a sweet romance with a little magic added in.  It’s also classified as a Young Adult book.  I can’t say I’ve read one of those before.  I can say that the story had me smiling from the very beginning and left me with a happy and  content feeling.

A Familiar Tail is different from all the previously mentioned books.  It’s a cozy mystery.  The protagonist finds herself in a magical town that has a family history to it.  It’s of those cozy mystery books that  truly made me want to get cozy in my blanket and lose myself to the story.  I loved learning about the characters and ultimately figuring out the murder mystery.

I generally have a hard time figuring out what I want to do for a giveaway so I’ve decided to put all the pressure on you.  I’m offering up a $5.oo US Amazon gift card. The giveaway is open to anyone who can receive the gift card from my US Amazon account. **Note: If you are a Twitter follower and only post about giveaways, your Twitter entries will be disqualified.**

    3. Really? You didn't like the 2nd book? I really loved it. You should checkout Rebecca Rogers Maher. She writes characters dealing with dark things. Her current stuff, not so much. But Tanya was good. You have to look her up, because Tanya contains some surprise spoilers about characters from other books. And that was a spoiler alert.

    1. Hi Jan.

I have to admit, I'm not a Stephen King fan. I'm sure he's probably not as scary as he use to be. I just don't want to risk having nightmares.
