REVIEW ~ GOOD VIBRATIONS by S.L. Scott

I grab her exploring finger just as it reaches my happy trail—a trail that if I let her wander down further will lead us to do things we can’t take back. Things like three-word phrases being confessed that would end me if I was rejected. Things like selfishly wanting to own her body and doing things to her that would make my fantasies blush. And things like making her promises too soon that won’t do either of us any good. She makes me want a future that’s not possible, and one I don’t deserve.

Listening to my ego got me into this situation. Will listening to my heart get me out?

REVIEW

I have to start off by saying  I have read almost all of S.L.’s books.  You could say she’s an auto buy/read author for me.  So, when she asked me to review GOOD VIBRATIONS, I jumped at the chance.  Then I realized it was a New Adult Romance.  I don’t read those.  I prefer to have my characters to have lived their lives and be out of the finding themselves stage.

GOOD VIBRATIONS surprised me on so many different levels.  I was immediately drawn into the book.  I should note that the book should come with a warning that says, “HOT sex...ALL the time.”

Mallory Wray is a University of Colorado student who travels to Hawaii to spend her summer vacation with her best friend, Sunny.  The idea is that Mallory can get away from the Mainland, get a summer job with Sunny and spend some quality time with her childhood friend.

Evan Ashford is a rich kid from New York who is living at his family’s estate in Hawaii, trying to get away from the life his parents expect him to live.  Evan has this thing about relationships.  He doesn’t do them.  His job as a surf instructor at a local hotel allows him to have his pick of girls with no strings attached.

Mallory meets Evan her first day in Hawaii.  In fact, she sees him as he is at the airport dropping off the latest notch on his bedpost.  Evan is immediately attracted to Mallory and tries to pick her up.  She shoots him down but he ends up giving her a ride since Sunny is unable to pick her up.  Evan convinces Mallory to have dinner with him and then agree to a quick one time only fling.

Of course for these two, things just can’t go smoothly.  After saying their not so nice goodbyes to each other, they unexpectedly run into each other again.  This encounter changes both of their lives.

There is so much more to Evan than what we are really allowed to see in this book.  But seeing his transformation makes it easy to fall in love with him.  He has a past but that’s not to say that he has done something wrong.  Whatever it was, broke him.  And this past has something to do with Noah Kalei who also has an interest in Mallory.  Evan and Noah are NOT friends but at one point in time were the best of friends.

With Noah vying for Mallory’s affection as well, this is going to be an unbelievable love triangle.  This is also going to be a story and series full of pain and heartbreak.  I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book.
