A WOMAN ON A MISSION
After putting her life on the line to protect classified intelligence, military psychologist Mia Kensington is on a cross-country road trip from hell with an intrusive save-the-day hero. Uninterested in his white knight act, she’d rather take her chances without the ruggedly handsome, cold-blooded operative who boasts an alpha complex and too many guns.
AND THE MAN SENT TO STOP HER
Colby Winters, an elite member of The Titan Group, has a single objective on his black ops mission: recover a document important to national security. It was supposed to be an easy in-and-out operation. But now, by any means necessary becomes a survival mantra when he faces off with a stunning woman he can’t leave behind.
MUST PARTNER TO SURVIVE
When Titan’s safe houses are compromised, Colby stashes Mia at his home, exposing his secret—he’s the adoptive father of an orphaned baby girl. Too soon, danger arrives and Mia lands in the hands of a sadistic cartel king with a taste for torture. As hours bleed into fear-drenched days, Colby races across the globe and through a firestorm of bullets to save the woman he can’t live without.
REVIEW
WINTERS HEAT is a must read. Cristin Harber has given you a hero and heroine to fall in love with. The best part is that these two weren’t even looking for love. Determined to save each other, they fall madly in love and discover they can have what they never knew they wanted.
Colby Winters is a member of The Titan Group, an elite government sanctioned black ops team. Mia Kensington is a military psychologist. The two cross paths while Colby is on a “cake walk” of an assignment to retrieve a package from an airport in Kentucky. Mia also wants the package, as it was the dying request of a patient. Neither expects the other to be there and they definitely didn’t expect to have someone else arrive trying to get the package as well.
Mia is the one who actually retrieves the package, but she gets kidnapped in the process. Colby has to get the package no matter what so he goes after Mia and the kidnappers. Things go from bad to worse when it’s determined that the people after Mia are part of a Colombian cartel. Its leader will not stop until he has the package and Mia in his possession, even if it means arriving at Titan's backdoor.
The book takes you from the United States to Colombia with Team Titan, lead by its leader and founder Jared Westin, to rescue Mia and Winters. When things go horribly wrong, it's Mia who stands up to Jared only to have her heart broken.
I loved this book from the start with its larger than life Alpha hero who has a heart of gold and risks his life to protect the woman he's waited his whole life for. The heroine isn't too bad herself. Mia seems like a damsel in distress although she's anything but. She's strong with wounds of her own she’s trying to overcome. She's a survivor. The secondary characters in the book, from Colby's mother to his team members are great. The book gives you hot love scenes, intense fighting, and some comic relief. This is a great start to the series and I can’t wait to read the other books.
