"It's not you."
There are only so many times a girl can hear those words before she believes that it is, in fact, very much her. Unexpectedly jilted by her locally famous boyfriend and haunted by a boss who makes Attila the Hun look like a lap dog, Bellamy Blake does what any self-respecting girl in her shoes would do. She rounds up her two best girlfriends and makes plans to get the hell out of Dodge.
But Bellamy's escape plan takes a nose dive on the side of rural route 164 when her transmission self-destructs, leaving her in the middle of a cell phone dead zone with nothing but her wits. Oh, and Shane Griffin, the hottest mechanic who's ever checked under her hood.
Yet this small-town man isn't all he seems. Can Shane and Bellamy prove that sometimes the most unlikely ingredients make the most deliciously sexy mix?
I'm really excited to have Bellamy Blake from Kimberly Kincaid's latest book, Turn Up the Heat on the blog today.
Hi Bellamy. What's your full name? Do you love it? Or hate it?
Hi Bellamy. What's your full name? Do you love it? Or hate it?
Bellamy Elizabeth Blake. I like that it’s a little unique but most people don’t screw up pronouncing it.
Who is your best friend?
I have two—Holly and Jenna. We’ve been friends for ages and we all live and work in Philadelphia.
What do you do for a living? And what's your dream job?
Right now, I’m a real estate analyst for a fairly large bank based in Philadelphia. I’m good at my job, but (looks around and bites her lip) I’m not really crazy about it. Truthfully, I’d rather be in the kitchen, whipping up dinner or—even better—dessert.
Are you single/married/divorced/looking for love?
Single. And after my ex-boyfriend Derek The Weasel dumped me on TV, I’m staying that way! (author’s note: not if I have anything to say about it, hehe!)
Name one of your all-time favourite books?
The Joy Of Cooking, of course!
What inspires you?
Great food, great friends, and great conversation. A fantastic bottle of wine doesn’t hurt.
Where is your favourite place in the world?
My kitchen
Favourite movie?
It’s a tie between Chocolat and No Reservations
Favourite author?
I love cookbooks, so most of my favorite authors are chefs. But I also love a good romantic read. Sigh!
If you could have a dinner party with anyone in the world (alive or dead, real or fictional), who would you choose and why?
Carly di Matisse, the New York City chef. She’s my idol (and keep an eye out for her, friends…she just might appear in Bellamy’s book!)
Tell us a random fact about yourself.
I was valedictorian of my high school class. Holly and Jenna still tease me. They called me The Librarian for the longest time.
Who would play you in the movie about your life?
Kate Hudson. It’s the blond, curly hair!
Tell us something interesting about where you live.
Well, right now I live in Philadelphia, but I’m about to go on a road trip with my girlfriends to a resort town in the Blue Ridge called Pine Mountain. I’ve heard it’s gorgeous. I’m hoping for a nice, relaxing, uneventful weekend.
Think Bellamy will get what she’s after? Or will dark and sexy small-town mechanic Shane Griffin turn her weekend upside down? Find out, in TURN UP THE HEAT. You can read my review of the book here.
Kimberly Kincaid writes contemporary romance that splits the difference between sexy and sweet. When she's not sitting cross-legged in an ancient desk chair known as "The Pleather Bomber", she can be found practicing obscene amounts of yoga, whipping up anything from enchiladas to éclairs in her kitchen, or curled up with her nose in a book. Kimberly is a 2011 RWA Golden Heart® finalist who lives (and writes!) by the mantra that food is love. She has written two digital novellas, Love On The Line and Drawing The Line, about hot cops and sexy chefs, with a third novella, Outside The Lines, due this summer. She is also thrilled to have collaborated on a Christmas anthology with Donna Kauffman and Kate Angell, titled The Sugar Cookie Sweetheart Swap, to kick off her Pine Mountain foodie series with Kensington this October. Kimberly’s first full-length novel, Turn Up the Heat, will follow in February 2014. She resides in northern Virginia with her wildly patient husband and their three daughters.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. Thank you for allowing me to be on the tour.
DeleteReally no favorite meal...unless it's the two of us escaping by ourselves somewhere else for one! ;) I am reading this book now!
ReplyDeleteI understand. I'm the same way. I'm happy with a burger as long as it's just my husband and myself. Enjoy the book.
