Truffled to Death, the second book in the Chocolate Lovers Mystery Series brings wonderful characters and a great mystery together. When Maya artifacts are stolen and a museum curator is killed, best friends Michelle Serrano and Erica Russell team up to find the art thief and catch a killer.
I’m not sure what events transpired in the first book, Death is Like a Box of Chocolates, but Michelle and Erica swear they are not investigating. Interestingly enough, no one believes them. Hmm. Maybe because they just can’t help themselves. After all, Erica is an expert on the Maya culture and the dead professor was a mentor of hers at one time.
I was right along with the women in their quest to find out the truth. Surprisingly, the women unknowingly stumble into the killer’s crosshairs and almost lose their lives. I was surprised by how the book sucked me in. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
