When Navy firefighter Nick Palotay returns to Marietta to go on the bachelor auction block for a good cause, he expects it to be risk free. But when he needs someone safe to bid on him and his sister’s best friend is coaxed into stepping up, Nick isn’t prepared for the effect Cassidy has on him. She sends his mind to all kinds of dirty places…places his battered heart can’t afford.

Freelance photographer Cassidy Ware is in waaay over her head. She’s always been Nick’s other little sister, but she’s all grown up now and just a glance from him leaves her hot and bothered. Still, she can stay immune to his charms and keep him at an emotional distance because she’s got an agenda, too. She’ll help the too-handsome Nick with his charitable deed, and, in return, he’ll help her keep an unwelcome suitor at bay.

A deal’s a deal, but when their “business transaction” turns into more pleasure than duty, can they walk away from each other without losing what matters most?
REVIEW

Falling for Her Bachelor is a sibling/best friend romance.  No one does this romance trope better than Robin Bielman.  This time, Robin has teamed up with Tule Publishing to bring back the Bachelor Auction series.

Fate has conspired to bring Nick Palotay and Cassidy Ware back to Marietta, Montana at the same time.  Nick is taking a break and trying to figure out his next move after leaving the Navy.  Cassidy is in town to pack up and sell her parents’ home.  Rowan, Nick’s sister and Cassidy’s best friend, is the organizer of the latest Marietta bachelor auction.  After fierce bidding, Cassidy ends up winning Nick for the weekend.  The catch is, Cassidy has always had a secret crush on Nick, one he’s always known about.  The weekend promises to be interesting.

I’m not a fan of books where domestic violence is involved.  In fact, I’ve been known to criticize authors for having the events in their books and not do something with it in the story.  Meaning, I find far too many people write about it, without giving it the proper serious attention it deserves.

Finding out there was domestic violence in Cassidy’s past caught me off guard.  The realization came deep into the book, well after the characters embedded themselves in my heart.  Because I knew or at least had a feeling this was going to be a good if not great love story, I kept reading.

Robin did a wonderful job in showing Cassidy finally coming to terms with her past, and gaining strength in being the woman she is today and conquering her fear.

There is so much to love about Falling for Her Bachelor, I don't even know where to start.  The characters of Nick and Cassidy are wonderful.  It takes a very special person to deal with and love someone who has been abused in the past and Nick proved time and time again he had the necessary qualities to do so.  Cassidy isn't the only person in this story with a tragic past.  Nick has one as well.  He’s lost several important people in his life due to fires.  Cassidy is the first person he ever opened up to.  Not because she pushed, but because she was open to allowing him to let down his walls on his own terms.

I don't know how Robin continues to write stories that the reader wants to be apart of, but she does.  Nick is a perfect hero.  Cassidy is a perfect heroine.  They have this easy-going playfulness about them.  I’m hoping Rowan gets her own story and that Nick and Cassidy come back to be apart of it.
