A Tortured Hero with a Heart of Gold

Growing up on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Almeida has only his older sister to protect him. When she’s sold to a human-trafficker, he vows to hunt down those responsible.

Years later, Titan Group’s Delta team finds him, tattooed and brawling, a vigilante protector with information they want. They take him in and train him, working him harder than a man should be driven, until he’s a soldier harboring an obsession. Ready for revenge, Javier ghosts his way across the globe, tracking the men who took his sister and working elite private security jobs.

Meets Sweet and Sassy

Jilted at the altar, Sophia Cole turns the reception into a one-woman party. She’s intent on devouring all the cake and champagne, so she can bask in the calories she’s been avoiding. In the midst of the revelry, he walks in, the one man she can never ignore.

Javier is her older brother’s black ops teammate—an automatic Do Not Go There. But if there’s one thing better than fondant and a buzz to ease the wounds of a cheating fiancĂ©, it might be a one-night stand with a South American military man.

It's a Game Changer

Javier didn’t expect to see Sophia again. He never thought he would even want to see her again. He shouldn’t have touched her, but his mind won’t stay away from her.

Now, Sophia Cole is thousands of miles away from the safety of her parents’ lavish estate and working alongside him in hell. She’s a staffer at an Embassy, and he’s there to keep them alive. There are bombs and bullets and blood-hungry enemies.

And then she’s taken. Gone. Just like his sister. But so much worse.

REVIEW
Once again, Cristin Harber has created a world where passion, anger, and revenge can all exist within a very intriguing and volatile love story. The main characters are very flawed and one of them seems to be on a collision course with death until he finds his anchor. I have read multiple books in the Titan/Delta series and would have to say that Delta: Revenge may have guys with guns but it seems to focus more heavily on the romance. It’s not that I’m complaining so much as I am comparing the previous books.

Delta: Revenge focus on Brazilian Brawler Javier Almeida and Human Rights Activist Sophia Cole. Although they share a mutual connection through Sophia’s brother Colin, Javier and Sophia don’t really know each other that well. Sophia knows that Javier is part of a Blackwater type military unit called Delta which is part of a larger operation called Titan. Javier knows much less about Sophia. He believes that she is a socialite. They end up getting intimate on Sophia’s wedding day after she finds out that her not-so-future husband has been having an affair with the Maid of Honor. Their intimacy goes far beyond the physical and they can’t stop thinking about each other. This poses some life-altering problems for Javier because until his connection with Sophia, his only agenda was to exact revenge on the Primeiro Comando cartel that bought his older sister from his father while they were both very young. Eventually, Sophia ends up in Honduras working to free another woman from her powerful and corrupt husband while gaining cartel intelligence. A series of unfortunate events, place Sophia in danger and she is fortunate that Javier and his Delta team just so happen to be in the area to assist. At some point, Sophia’s perils force Javier to decide if revenge is really as important to him as it was before he met her.

I truly enjoyed Delta: Revenge. There are a few suspenseful situations that will clearly have you entertained. There’s also a twist or two that you just won’t see coming. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. Javier and Sophia really burn down the house with their passionate relationship. The sex scenes lean toward the erotic so be prepared to blush. I would have loved more guns and ammo related action but I still felt that the book was complete.
