A grinch is spoiling the holiday cheer and causing fear in the latest from the author of Rest Ye Murdered Gentlemen...

It’s Christmastime three hundred sixty-five days a year in Rudolph, New York, and as Christmas Day approaches, shop owner Merry Wilkinson is enjoying a rare evening off at the Yuletide Inn when she runs into owners Grace and Jack Olsen. With Jack's health failing, Merry is relieved to hear that his son Gord will be taking over the day-to-day running of the Inn.

But then Gord reveals that his new plans have no room for Christmas at the Inn, and Merry and the other shopkeepers start to fret about the effect a bland franchise hotel could have on their livelihoods.

When Gord is found stabbed to death, there’s an entire town of potential suspects—and it’s up to Merry to find whoever brought homicide home for the holidays...

REVIEW
When Jack Olsen, owner of the Yuletide Inn suffers a heart attack, his wife Grace calls her stepson Gordon, who lives in California, to come help run the day to day operations of the inn.  Gordon aka Gord is more than happy to do so.  In fact, everyone in town is happy Gord has returned to help out his parents.  But their happiness turns to sadness and anger when they discover Gord has plans to cut costs and sell the inn to a budget franchise chain.

When Gord’s dead body is discovered, everyone is shocked.  That shock is intensified when the police start suspecting Merry’s father, Noel, is the killer.  It’s no secret Noel was upset with Gord’s plans.  The plans could ruin everything Noel has worked so hard to create in Rudolph.  But there’s no way the man who made Rudolph, New York aka Christmas Town what it is and who looks like the man himself could murder someone, is there?  Merry knows her father is innocent but in a short time Gord made tons of enemies.  Merry is going to have to work fast to clear her father’s name and save Christmas Town before the town and Christmas are ruined forever.

My love for Vicki Delany’s A Year-Round Christmas Mystery series continues with We Wish You a Murderous Christmas.  Vicki did an excellent job of writing a well rounded mystery. I admit she had me questioning almost every character.  The reveal was shocking and the reason surprising.  Now, if only Merry could get her love life in order.  I can’t wait to return to Rudolph.  It should be noted that while this is the second book in the series, it is a standalone read.
