I can’t believe that I’ve survived a year in the blogging world. I will admit there have definitely been times where I thought about giving up... That I wasn’t good at this.. But then I have someone say something to me and I realize that this blogging thing is really one of the best jobs there is... Yes, it IS a job!!!!... And no, I don’t get paid to do this. But I get to talk to authors that I liked reading as a regular everyday reader. I also get to meet new authors that I’ve never heard of and probably wouldn’t have heard of if I didn’t do this.
I’ve made mistakes at this... God knows I’ve made mistakes. And if you know me, I am one of the most anal people in the world... I’m STILL learning how to do all of this... I’m still making mistakes. But I am so lucky to have met so many people who have and are willing to help me on this journey of mine.
My husband has been fantastic throughout all of this... I know that he’s watched me from a distance and has seen me cry when I couldn’t figure out how to do something. And I know that it took everything in him to not rush to my side, to help me figure out why some stupid HTML code wasn’t working or fix my blog site just right. So to him, I have to say THANK YOU so much for allowing me to do this and disappear on the weekends to read.
Oh my GOSH and the other bloggers... There are so many of you, I'm not even going to attempt to name all of you, but from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for ALL of your help and encouragement.
Authors and publishers, a huge thank you to all of you as well.
Last but not least, I would like to thank everyone who takes the time to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and the blog itself.
Now down to business. I wanted to do something really big for my first blogoversary. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the party planning gene. Luckily for me, when I asked some authors and publishers to contribute they were more than happy to do so. I really would like to thank all the authors and publishers for contributing to this giveaway. There are eight, yes EIGHT separate giveaways with one winner for each giveaway. Of the eight, two are open internationally (where allowed). Follow the Rafflecopters below to enter. Good luck everyone!

Congratulations Read Your Writes. What a year hey? Great job. You have sure grown over the last year. Very impressive. Thank you for all you do for authors.
ReplyDeleteThank you Maggie!!! And thanks for always putting a smile on my face.
DeleteCongratulations and Happy Anniversary!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongrats on the one year. I can totally empathize with you. There were times where I was pulling my hair out on the verge of crying and the Mr. just told me to breathe, call tech support, and then he poured me a glass of wine. A lot of people think that what we do is just type up a post here and there and reap the benefits of books. NOPE! It isn't until I tell them what I do on a daily basis, what I do early in the morning before my day job, during lunch break and then first thing when I get home, that they realize... she's serious. It's definitely a job and even though we don't get paid with money, we get paid in books and that it by far the best payment for me. It fuels our addiction and we get to spread that addiction to others. ;)
ReplyDeleteKeep your chin up!

DeleteI wish someone would have told me how much work was involved in blogging. Early mornings, late nights and life in between. I love the books and being able to get introduced to new authors. My reading list has grown SO much. And to think use to only read about maybe 5 authors.

ReplyDeleteCongrats. I take my hat off to you. Many times my hubby has suggested I start a blog based on the amount of time I devote to writing reviews and on Twitter/FB. But if he wants feeding and a clean house, I simply can't do it along with a full time job! Here's to another fabulous 12 months for you.
