Doctor Ashley Hanes has one mission and one mission only—end her annoyingly long dry streak and ring in the New Year with a bang. Literally. When her long lost and oh-so-sexy ex-best friend, Ethan Pierce, shows up as if he hadn’t broken her heart all those years ago, suddenly she doesn’t want to bring home just any man. She wants Ethan.
What should have been one night of blow-your-mind make-up sex quickly turns into another. And another. Before long, Ashley thinks maybe she and Ethan should reunite for good. If only the elusive bachelor will stop running from his tortured past and trust a future in Ashley’s arms…
REVIEW
Kiss Me at Midnight is an unbelievably HOT romance over nine years in the making. Ashley Hanes and Ethan Pierce were the best of friends in high school, until one day all of that changed. Ethan stopped talking to Ashley and Ashley had no idea why.
Ethan hates his hometown of Rehoboth Beach and after being bullied constantly, could not wait to leave. In fact, he only comes back during the holidays and doesn’t interact with anyone he grew up with when he does. Having recently returned to Rehoboth Beach after the death of her father, Ashley can’t fathom leaving town anytime soon. She has responsibilities not many people know about or understand.
It’s New Year’s Eve and both Ethan and Ashley just so happen to be at the same local bar. Each have the same mission in mind; to find someone to spend the evening with and then be on their merry way. What neither expects is for their old feelings to resurface and become hotter than hot.
What was supposed to be a one night stand turns into something so much more. Unfortunately, Ethan has wounds from his past which still haven’t healed. Even though he’s changed, he finds it hard to believe that other people are just as capable of changing. Now, with their hearts on the line, they must decide if this time they are willing to stay and fight for what they want or if they will simply walk away again.
I’m not sure how to put into words how much I loved this book. It is simply a MUST read. Kiss Me at Midnight is about love you’re afraid to ask for and coming to terms with your past. Sometimes life gives you a second chance at love. You just need to be willing to take a risk. You might just discover that a kiss at midnight could be the start of the rest of your life.
