Review ~ What Once Was Perfect by Zoe York

She shuttered her heart and walked away...
Heading home always stirs up mixed emotions for Laney Calhoun. Twelve years ago she left for graduate school, broken-hearted. She's found professional success, but positive personal relationships have proved elusive. Running into her ex-boyfriend fans flames she thought long extinguished, renews her interest in love. Not with Kyle, of course. Never again. But as sparks fly and items of clothing disappear, she scrambles to lock down her heart.

...Now he has a second chance to get it right.
Kyle Nixon let Laney slip away once. Their chemistry together is undeniable, but a few days of steamy sex over the Christmas holidays won't be enough to convince her to let him back into her heart. Even if she did trust him again, her career as a surgeon is a day's drive away from the hometown that he loves, and the life he once chose over her.

A modern, sexy, small town love story about second chances and leaps of faith. *NEW SERIES*

REVIEW
Laney Calhoun who is a big time plastic surgeon in Chicago and is preparing a return trip home to Wardham for Christmas, to visit her family.

Before she leaves, she has a conversation with Rick, her colleague and a man she’s dated.  The conversation brings up past memories of a love she once had. Laney starts to dread the fact that by going home, she might run into Kyle Nixon, a man she hasn’t seen in twelve years.

Once in Wardham, Laney sees Kyle outside of her mother’s house.  Kyle invites her to his house.  It goes unsaid that they have some unresolved issues.  What started as an innocent invitation leads into something that will get your heart racing.  You will get swept away with "What Once Was Perfect" between them.  But the question remains, can they see past all the mistakes they made before.  And their big issues of Laney’s life and career being in Chicago and Kyle’s life and career in Wardham.

I laughed a lot reading this book.  This is my first time reading Zoe York.  But I can promise you that it will not be my last.  I’m looking forward to reading her next book, Where Their Hearts Collide.
