Megan Miller is on a dream trip to research her doctoral thesis at a rock festival in England. When she arrives in town she’s stunned that her temporary neighbor is the spitting image of her 70’s rock idol, too bad he’s also a world-class jerk. So why can't she stop thinking about him?
Seventies rock star Davy Morgan is a man with a secret: rockin’ in one time and living in another. He holds his privacy close to his heart, so when a beautiful girl who not only loves but truly understands his music moves in next door, he works overtime to keep her at a distance. Easier said than done.
Megan follows Davy to the rock festival, but it’s not what or when it seems. The lure of the music draws them closer, but can their newfound love span across the decades, or will it get lost in time?
REVIEW
When I heard about Hot Rock, I wondered how Annie was going to pull off a time travel story. That in and of itself had me wanting to read the book. Trying to put all the pieces together to actually understand what was happening, had me turning the pages.
In 1971, David “Davy” Morgan launched his rock star career. For him, the music was important, not the fame. The fortune, he can live with. Davy lives in both the twentieth century (1971) and twenty-first century (2014). He does what he loves and was meant to do in one and lives the quiet peaceful life he craves in the other.
Megan has always felt a connection to 70's music and especially the music of The Davy Morgan Band. As a teenager, when all of her friends were listening to the latest bands of the 90's, she immersed herself in 70's music. Now, she has a once in a lifetime opportunity to travel to England and attend the Glastonbury Festival as research for her doctorate on the sociology of seventies music and festivals.
When Megan and David first meet, there is an immediate attraction. The attraction is so strong and powerful, they don’t have the ability to ignore it. Megan's trip turns out to be confusing and magical all at the same time. The trip results in a love across generations and time. It truly shows that love is timeless.
