Ryan’s Love (Sawyer Brothers, #1)

Series: Sawyer Brothers
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Releases: August 11, 2015
Publisher: Limitless Publishing
One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was bury my wife.
The second hardest thing would be watching my twelve-year-old daughter fall to her knees as they lowered her mother into the ground to rest.
A heart-wrenching vision that will forever be etched in my mind.
Claire was my best friend—she had been since we were barely old enough to talk. I always knew, one day, I would marry her. I think I may have even told her that a few times while we were growing up.
Never did I think I would lose her so suddenly.
I knew at that moment…
Our life would never be the same again…
Hi C.A., welcome to Read Your Writes Book Reviews.
Thank you for having me.
Tell me a little about Ryan's Love. I know it's been called emotional and romantic.
It is a journey about a man learning to cope after the loss of his wife. He is raising a teenage daughter alone and she too is struggling with the idea of her father moving on.
How do you handle writing the emotional scenes? Are you crying as you're writing? Do the scenes just pour out of you? Are you an emotional wreck after you're done?
Yes I do find myself needing a kleenex on more than one occasion. I have found playing soft music, sitting in a dim room helps to allow the words to flow.
When you sat down to write Ryan's Love, what did you want to accomplish with the story?
I wanted the readers to connect with Ryan and Olivia, his teen daughter. Plus I wanted them to feel the emotions of all characters throughout.
I find the title of the book to be very interesting. When I first looked at the synopsis, I took it to be about Ryan's love for his late wife, Claire. Is that what Ryan's love is or is it something different?
It is actually a mixture of all things. His love for his late wife, for his daughter, and family. Plus the ability to move on and give his love again to another woman after healing from his loss. His love is the treasure and heart of the book.
Tell me about Olivia, Ryan's daughter. What part does she play in the story?
She is VERY close to her father. They have this fun banter they share and it is tested when he decides to start dating again. Olivia had a hard time seeing her father with another woman. She struggles with her mother being forgotten and the fact that each day that passes it becomes harder for her to remember her mother, Claire.
I'm always curious as to how and why authors choose certain characters to be together. What is about Amber that makes her perfect for Ryan?
She is so patient and understanding of his struggles and of Olivia's. She doesn't judge them based on the inability to move on, but supports the love they will always have for Claire. She is selfless and kind, exactly what is needed as Olivia begins to rebel.
Can you tell me about the other Sawyer brothers and what readers can expect from their stories?
Jackson Sawyer is a strong confident, take charge kind of guy. His presence is hard to miss, for more reasons than one. He tells it like it is. Noah is the man that looks for the good in everything. He is the glue that holds his family together during bad times and the first to celebrate the good. The one that no matter what you can count on. But he has a side most have never seen.
And finally, can you sum up Ryan's Love Twitter style?
Second chance romance, packed with emotion. You will laugh, cry & feel the heat, in more ways than one.
C.A., thank you so much for taking the time to answer some questions for me.
Thank you so much, it was fun.
