What happens when a fairy godfather falls in love?
With my excellent track record as a fairy godfather, the elders sent me to Chancellor on a mission to help Alice, the quirky owner of the local bagel shop, find her Prince Charming. No one has managed to find a match for Alice. Where they failed, I will succeed.
The only trouble? My head isn't in the game because I'm too busy falling in love with my best friend's sister.
I'll need to get my feelings in check before I blow it for Alice. The upcoming Cherry Blossom Ball should give me the perfect venue to make a little magic happen. Can I pull it off before the clock strikes midnight on both our dreams?
Join Rayne in The Fairy Godfather, book 3 of The Chancellor Fairy Tales, a modern day retelling of the classic Cinderella fairy tale by New York Times bestselling author Melanie Karsak.
Talk about a wonderful accidental surprise. I came across Melanie Karsak by accident. I read The Cupcake Witch and couldn’t get enough. The Chancellor Fairy Tale series is magical and one that makes you want to immerse yourself into the town and the lives of the people who live there.
I became intrigued and possibly fell hard for Rayne in The Cupcake Witch. I couldn't wait for his story. Admittedly, his heroine wasn't who I thought it would be. I was hoping for Alice but I see why she wasn’t selected.
Rayne is a fairy godfather who is also a beekeeper. He actually has the ability to communicate with bees. He arrived in Chancellor a couple of years ago to help Alice find her true love. Unfortunately, he hasn’t found “the one”. Now his attention is being diverted by Viola Hunter, his best friend Horatio's sister. Viola is finally coming into her own. She’s returned to college and is about to embark on an opportunity of a lifetime, to further the career she’s only dreamed of. With so much going on in her life, she isn’t expecting love to actually find her.
The Fairy Godfather has two love connections going on within it. It appears Rayne just might be successful in finally finding “the one” for Alice. You also have Rayne and Viola finally admitting their feelings for each other. I liked the story but.....I would have preferred these two love connections to have their own separate books and not be incorporated together. The story ends with a happy for now, promising happy ever afters down the line. It definitely leaves the door open for another book. I'm looking forward to seeing what else Melanie has in store for us.
