From Harlequin Desire: Luxury, scandal, desire—welcome to the lives of the American elite.

Seducing His Secret Wife is the standalone second book in Robin Covington’s Redhawk Reunion series. I didn’t read the first book, Taking on the Billionaire. However, from what I gather, the Redhawk Reunion series is about three siblings reuniting after being taken from their family and either adopted or placed in foster care. In Taking on the Billionaire, eldest brother Adam went on a quest to find his younger siblings so they could be a family again.

Half Chinese/Irish American Justin Ling is the co-founder and CFO of Redhawk/Ling, a tech company in Silicon Valley. He’s also known to be a playboy who loves to gamble. Sarina Redhawk didn’t have the best life growing up. She moved from foster home to foster home and even was forced to change her name, in what appears to have been an attempt to hide the fact she was Native American. Outside of the friends she made in the military, she doesn’t do relationships or let anyone get close to her. Justin and Sarina meet up in Vegas and after a few too many drinks, get married. Justin awakens the next morning to discover he’s married and that his new bride has left and he has no way of finding her. Soon, the two meet again and are shocked to discover their connection to Adam.

With a big business deal on the line, the two agree to keep their marriage a secret, while at the same time waiting for their annulment paperwork to go through the legal process. During this time, the two become closer and get to know each other better.

Honestly, Seducing His Secret Wife was one of the best best friend/sibling, marriage of convenience romances I’ve read. You know how you go to a wedding and it just makes you cry? You’re crying because this couple stands before you professing their undying love. They’re promising to be there for one and another. You’re crying because for this moment in time you’re able to watch these two people who are so mesmerized with each other that they forget others are watching them. You have this opportunity to witness something loving and intimate. That’s Seducing His Secret Wife. Justin and Sarina are so different from each other. But the one thing they have in common is wanting someone to see them, to believe in them, to make them feel that they are enough. It’s like every interaction they had, their feelings for one another came through.

I was so happy, so captivated with the story that I forgot there had to be a dark moment. When it happened, I wanted to cry. I couldn’t help but feel for these two. I understood them so well. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series, featuring Sarina’s twin brother, Roan. But I definitely have to go back and read Adam’s story.
