Each became parents in their late teens and know all about sacrifices due to their very adult decisions. Both have preached to their kids about education and their own poor life choices and thought their kids learned from watching them. So imagine Lita and Trey’s surprise upon learning they are going to be grandparents, and that their kids plan on getting married. The only thing they can do is squash the sizzling attraction they have for each other and work together to make sure their kids don’t make the same bad decisions they did.
Reese is one of my favorite authors because she brings this good-natured southern vibe to her books. Lita and Trey are real in their actions and emotions. They aren’t down for playing games. They embrace and love themselves for who they are. While part of me wished there was more of their kids and their situation in the story, I really liked that we are able to see Lita and Trey’s relationship grow and evolve. Something About You was a wonderful well-rounded story.
Reese has even added a little connection to her Pleasure Cove series. I’m hoping Something About You is the start of a new series for Reese. I would really love to read books on Lita’s best friends.
