After seeing each other in passing several times, ER nurse Madison (Madi) Scott and WGH’s new temporary flight paramedic Tate Griffin officially meet when she saves him from a raging storm. To thank her, Tate agrees to be her fake date to a charity auction benefiting Madi’s pride and joy the Health Services Clinic, which serves the underprivileged of Wyckford and surrounding areas. The two share an impromptu love session which leaves Madi wishing for a forever and Tate counting the days until he’s cleared to get out of town and return to the Air Force.
An ER Nurse to Redeem Him was one of those stories where your heart immediately goes out to the main characters. Madi has a huge heart. She thinks of others before herself, and she pretty much wants to save the world. Tate is someone who isn’t really used to making deep-meaning connections with people. He suffers from PTSD and blames himself for a tragic accident. They both wear scars of the past and hold themselves responsible for things out of their control. I loved watching Tate and Madi navigate their newfound feelings for each other. And how they each in their own way tried to take care of the other, without truly thinking about what they were doing. At its core, I think this is a story about friendship, letting go of the past, forgiving, and believing in yourself.
