Their royal marriage:
Separate beds but shared temptation…

Two months have passed since the world watched Natalia La Morte marry King Angelo Dizieno. But Natalia hasn’t seen or heard from him since their startlingly scorching kiss at the altar…

Promoted from spare to heir after tragedy struck, Angelo can’t be distracted from his duty. Being within touching distance of the woman he has always craved—his brother’s intended queen—has him on the precipice of self-destruction. The last thing he needs is for Natalia to recognize their dangerous attraction. If she does, there’s nothing to stop it from becoming all-consuming…

From Harlequin Presents: Escape to exotic locations where passion knows no bounds.

"His brother’s promised princess. Once forbidden, now his for the taking…"

I can't remember ever meeting/reading a more broken hero. Angelo Dizieno carries around so much baggage. He doesn't think he's worthy of having a life of pleasure and happiness. He thinks his duty to the crown and his people is all that matters and having both is not allowed.

Natalia LaMorte is young and while she's constantly being called naive, she is wise beyond her years. With her mother dead, and her father’s fear of losing her, she's been sheltered her whole life.

Due to some long-ago promise, Natalia's to marry the King of Camalo once she turns twenty-one. Natalia knows what is expected of her and she doesn't fight it. Just the opposite, she embraces it, thinking/knowing that it will help her people advance and get out of the dark ages her father has refused to leave behind. So for her, any king will do. With there not really being technology in her homeland, she doesn't know anything about her future king. Not what he looks like or even his name.

For Natalia, her wedding day is as it should be. But a kiss from her now king awakes her heart and has her craving more. But more is not what Angelo will allow. For him, he would prefer that they live separately, her on her side of the castle and him on his side, with the two only meeting when they have official royal matters to attend to.

Angelo has a secret that has hounded him for the past three years, and Natalia threatens his very existence. Uncontrollable passion explodes in The King She Shouldn’t Crave.

I’m not a royal romance reader. But every time I pick up a Lela Mae Wight book, she has me doubting that statement. I found myself being in awe of the strength and courage Natalia possessed. My heart broke for Angelo with all he endured and lost. I felt hope and excitement at seeing these two finally hear each other regarding what they wanted out of life, from their fears to their hopes and dreams. I loved when it all came together and they were finally able to find the love they both deserved to have. Lela May simply brings out ALL the feels.
