Mini Book Review ~ CHASING ETERNITY by Alyson Noel

Chasing Eternity (Stealing Infinity, #3)
by: Alyson Noel
Series: Stealing Infinity
Genre: Teen/Young Adult Fantasy Time Travel
Release Date: December 3, 2024
Publisher: Entangled Teen

At Gray Wolf Academy, time is the ultimate weapon…if you know how to use it.

I’m about to break one of the biggest rules of all.

But I need to find my dad. And if that means going back to New York City in 1998 to find him—before I’m even born—then that’s what I have to do. Because I need someone I trust to teach me what it means to be a Timekeeper.

Now I’m in the land of post-grunge, low-rise jeans, baby doll tees, chunky boots…and risking my own existence in the process. Awesome.

This is no ordinary trip. Just about anything can go wrong, and if I get found out, I’ll lose not only my home and school…but Braxton, too. Because there might not be enough forgiveness in the world for what I’ve done—and what I am about to do.

Because the secrets are more terrible than I thought. The reality is even more horrifying. And I’ll do whatever it takes to find out the truth about Gray Wolf Academy, the strange billionaire who runs it, and not only why he’s so invested in traveling—or “Tripping”—through time, but what his real plans are.

And time’s almost up.

Chasing Eternity picks up immediately where Ruling Destiny ends so this is not a stand-alone read. The Stealing Infinity series needs to be read in order. Chasing Eternity finds Nat and Elodie traveling back in time to the 90’s, with the hope of tracking down Nat’s father and getting him to teach her everything she needs to know.

Alyson Noel’s Stealing Infinity series has quickly become one of my unlikely favorite series. I’m not generally a fan of time travel books, but Alyson won me over with her plot and characters. There’s a little numerology thrown in to make things even more interesting.

All the previous characters that fans have come to love or hate return, making Chasing Eternity even more interesting. Without spoiling the previous books, Chasing Eternity answers many lingering questions and ties up loose ends. There are twists and edge-of-your-seat moments. The ending seemed fitting and left me satisfied. This is definitely a series that I will re-read (because I know I’ve missed clues) and think about often.

Full review to come later.
