Fate connects two people in life-changing ways in a deeply romantic and emotional novel about hope and second chances by the author of Would You Rather and The Roommate Pact.

Uncertain of what tomorrow brings, Elliott Holland decides to live it up—on the eve of a stem cell transplant to treat her leukemia. It’s destiny when she crosses paths with handsome and charming Jamie Sullivan. The chemistry is magic. So is a beautiful evening that ends with a bittersweet kiss goodbye and no expectations of ever seeing each other again.

One year later, Elliott’s future looks good. Her cancer is in remission. Her career in graphic design is taking off. And she’s finally met Carly, the young woman whose stem cell donation gave Elliott a second chance at life. Then, in a twist of fate both blissful and unfair, she meets Carly’s boyfriend. It’s Jamie, the man Elliott kissed like it was her last day on earth. Neither of them has ever forgotten it.

Now, the most difficult decisions of all lie ahead. Whatever risks there are to the heart, one need wins out: to grab hold of everything that can make someone feel alive again.

Allison Ashley pens an incredible love story with If Tomorrow Never Comes.

Elliott Holland has been battling leukemia on and off for a little over ten years. On the eve of her stem cell transplant, she’s in her Omaha, Nebraska hotel room, feeling antsy and wondering if this could potentially be her last night to have fun and enjoy life in general. She decides to go to a random bar and order a drink. She’s oblivious to the man sitting a few seats down from her until he confesses to hearing her phone conversation and declares she’s wrong about what cheesecake is. The two strike up a playful conversation, where they completely disagree. The stranger introduces himself as Jamie and asks if she would like to accompany him to a cooking class he was supposed to attend with the date who stood him up.

Elliott and Jamie have an amazingly incredible evening together, where they fall asleep talking. Jamie wakes up to Elliott gone and no way of finding her. Fast forward a year, and fate brings these two star-crossed lovers back into the same orbit. But fate is a fickle being. Before, Elliott couldn’t commit to anyone due to the transplant, and the months she would have to be in the hospital and then at home recovering, while Jamie was free and unattached. Now, Elliott has moved out on her own to Omaha from Lincoln to finally live on her own and pursue her dream of being a graphic designer. Jamie is in a relationship with Carly, his former college girlfriend and the lady whose stem cells saved Elliott’s life. Jamie and Elliott meet in a surprise meet-up and agree to keep the fact that they have previously met to themselves, which is a recipe for disaster.

If Tomorrow Never Comes was one of those stories that I didn’t see coming. I loved Elliott and Jamie from the moment they appeared on the page. Their connection is truly what romantic dreams are made of. If Tomorrow Never Comes will remain in my heart for a long time to come.

I hate chocolate with an ever-loving passion. I have an irrational fear of fish. I love to travel. I’m terrible at math. I love to cook and I drink at least six cups of coffee every day.

Now that we’ve covered the big stuff, also know this: Any bizarre quirk my characters possess probably comes from me.

When not writing, you’ll find me working in oncology – an emotionally draining, yet unfathomably rewarding profession. I’ve spent 10 years encouraging patients to push through and sometimes giving them permission to let go, and through it all my escape has been books.

I prefer love stories with deep romance. I want that connection, that soul-wrenching yearning between two people and the satisfaction of witnessing that moment when they collide. I covet the happy-ever-after and promise to always give you one.
