Boy saves girl stuck on a disastrous hike. What could go wrong? So. Much.

Just Another Meet Cute is the joyful and funny story about what happens when you realize you’re dating the wrong twin.

When seventeen-year-old Nina Riley gets saved by a super cute Knight-in-Faded-Khakis just as she lands in an embarrassingly ‘ahem’ sticky situation during the most disastrous hike known to man, she wasn’t exactly looking for a meet cute. She really just needed some peace and quiet from her complicated family. Unfortunately, he disappears before she can properly thank him or get his number. All she has is his name (Ian Nguyen) and a navy jacket with a dog keychain, a gym card, and laundromat receipt. But a meet cute is a meet cute. And armed with years of watching Veronica Mars and a techy cousin, it should be simple enough for Nina to find the boy of her dreams, right? But when she finally tracks him down, he’s different than she thought ―right down to his name. Ryan is just as cute as she remembers, but the chemistry isn’t there like it was before. After a few dates, she meets Ryan’s family: his sweet grandma, his enthusiastic sisters, and his twin brother --Ian.

Nina Riley is excited to finally be back in Austin with the people she considers her family (her mom, Aunt Sarah, and her cousin Linh). This could be the perfect summer, if it weren’t for the complicated relationship she has with her father, the man who abandoned her and her mom before she was born, the man she had never seen or known about until two years ago, the man who has now left his other family and is engaged to her mom. If having David around wasn’t bad enough, her mom insists that she call him Dad and is constantly asking her to hang out with him. The fact that Aunt Sarah doesn’t like him and badmouths him every chance she gets is really getting on Nina’s last nerve.

Escaping the house, Nina decides to take a hike, where she ends up injuring herself and sitting on her juice box. An angel appears in the form of the cutest guy she has ever seen. After introducing himself and helping Nina out, Ian rushes off, leaving behind his jacket. Nina is head over heels for Ian and decides to track him down with Linh’s help.

Nina eventually finds who she thinks is Ian, only to learn that his name is Ryan. Hey, it’s possible the guy gave her a fake name. No big deal. After going out with Ryan a few times, she meets his family and discovers that there really is an Ian, and he’s Ryan’s twin brother. Now Nina finds herself dating Ryan but constantly sneaking in text messages and phone calls with Ian, who is always pushing her buttons.

I love the friendship that grows between Nina, Ryan, and Ian. Each of their families plays a large role in the story. Just Another Meet Cute was a fun and entertaining read. This is a sweet romance, emphasis on the word sweet. Because there were times I was sure my heart was going to take flight.
