The gods want her dead...Hades will bury them.

You’d think I’d have learned by now:
Don’t mouth off to deities.
Don’t fall for the King of the Underworld.
And definitely don’t get dragged into a divine death match where I’m the cursed mortal prize.

But here I am—trapped in Tartarus, humanity’s worst pit stop, squaring off against monsters who make the gods look merciful. Titans, twisted by centuries of rage and ruin, are sealed behind seven ancient locks.

And guess what?

I'm the key.

To escape, I’ll have to survive every horrifying trial they throw at me.

To win, I might have to become something the gods never saw coming.

Oh, and Hades?

He's about to break every rule the gods ever wrote.

Because to save me...the god of death will burn the world.

But if I break free? So do the Titans.

And the world won’t just suffer—it'll beg for the end.

Abigail Owen has given Lyra Keres and Hades the story I didn’t know I needed them to have in The Things Gods Break, proving their love is true and can stand the test of time itself.

I love that there’s a recap of the previous book for those who have forgotten what happened. But to fully enjoy The Things Gods Break, you need to read The Games Gods Play (TGGP) first. In addition to the mini-recap, there is a glossary at the end of the book to help you keep track of the gods, goddesses, and Titans.

The Things Gods Break picks up at the end of TGGP, where Lyra and her one true friend, Boone, have been pulled into Tartarus by Cronos. Hades is desperate to get Lyra back, and she fears that the prophecy of Hades burning down the world will come true if she isn’t able to get out. But Lyra’s escaping also means that the Titans, who have been banished, will also get out and wreak unknown havoc on the world. Lyra and Boone find themselves risking their lives time and time again in a race against time to escape Tartarus, all while learning new truths.

Told from multiple points of view, The Things Gods Break has a surprising mystery that keeps you intrigued and guessing until the very end, and without a doubt leaves you wondering what’s going to happen next, in the best possible way. This is a story of friendship, found-family, courage, determination, and true love.

The Wrath Gods Reap (what an interesting title) is the third and final book in The Crucible series. It promises to be an intense, heart-pounding, and possibly soul-crushing rollercoaster ride. I look forward to finding out if some of my theories are correct and uncovering all the little breadcrumbs Abigail has added to all of the books, leading up to what I anticipate to be a shocking reveal.
