How did you come up with your name? What sparked it? What does it mean?
Intensia means an intense intention, in tension. It stands for the passion, stamina and vision which is required to pursue such a path, but also describes my nature. I’m a highly sensitive person and this might make me intense to some. I’m one of those people with an internal monologue, what I call my inner voice. She would talk to me or whisper melodies and song ideas every now and then. So she did with my officially recognized stage name Intensia.
In Germany, the European Community country I live in, it is possible to have it legally acknowledged under specific artistic circumstances. This means it is registered in the personal identity documents and it can be used instead of the given name, which applies to me. I feel really connected to my stage name, sometimes I even forget that I also have a given one.
One day, a very long time ago, I was sitting in the meadow on an early summer afternoon, gazing at the clear sky, breathing in the woody air carried by a gentle breeze from the surrounding forest, thinking about my vocation and which message my stage name would carry if it were to describe a bit of my personality and attitude. As I began to wonder about it, the name came right to me. Just like that, softly and naturally. I did not search for it, it was already in me. It is an accurate description of myself. I’m inspired by life and driven by emotions. I don’t do things halfway, and if I go for something, I strive to give my best and all I can for that. I have even come up with a special name for the lovely people joining me in this unique artistic journey: the Intenswes! Because it’s all about us and heartfelt art. Singular: an Intenswe, plural: the Intenswes. Our community: The Intense Inside Club 😊. You are warmly invited to this special creative unfolding adventure, shared on Substack.
I write and sing evocative, relatable, cinematic pop songs that feel like after a meaningful conversation with a good friend also for the deep feelers, the intense ones, the passionate thinkers, the curious minds, the heartfelt souls, the kindred spirits who read every line carefully and let it become a part of them. The lovely, sensitive people who think they are too much, feel too much, muse too much.
Looking quite calm on the outside, but a little jittery and kind of excited on the inside. So if you ever see me somewhere, nodding quite rhythmically without earphones, staring into the void with a thoughtful or peaceful expression, don’t worry. I’m not high, not even a little off. I’m just composing and orchestrating in my head 😊.
