Nugget and Tenders are chickens in the Super Secret Lab of Big Chicken. Instead of giving the chickens the Super Big Serum, Dr. Dipping Sauce accidentally gives them the Super Smart Serum. This allows them to become smart, where they’re able to think on their own, talk, and read. By the time the doctor realizes the mistake, the Secret Lab is in chaos, with super big rats running around. During the chaos, Nugget and Tenders discover Big Chicken plans on making the chickens bigger so they can be eaten. Their only hope is to escape, which they do by jumping into a chicken bucket that unfortunately takes them back in time to the dinosaurs. Now this duo must figure out how to get back without being eaten by dinosaurs and save the other chickens.
I liked the quirkiness of the story Bawk to the Future, especially the names of all the characters. I can definitely see kids liking, if not loving, this story for its illustrations and humor. When I first read the book, I thought it was a little over the top. But I now find myself wanting to know what Nugget and Tenders' next adventure is going to be.
