Review ~ SAVAGE SECRETS by Cristin Harber

When the past is impossible to ignore, love may be the only way to survive.

Caterina Cruz has no home. No loyalties. No objection to exacting torturous revenge. Her life’s mission is to destroy the terrorist who murdered her family. Then she steps into an elaborate game of charades alongside a Titan Group operative posing as an arms dealer—and her newlywed husband. The sexy distraction may be more than she can handle.

Attacked with a psychedelic drug weeks before, Rocco Savage is plagued with hallucinations that threaten his new rank as Titan’s second-in-command. No one knows and he wants to keep it that way. Throwing him further off his game, he now has a wife with her own secrets he can’t crack and an agenda he can’t control.

Their mission—an elaborate deception of heated glances and passionate kisses—spins out of control. With Rocco's mind already compromised, can he keep his secret and his distance? And with Caterina's tragic past controlling her every move, can she keep the con up long enough to secure her revenge? Or will both go down in flames?

REVIEW

Savage Secrets is the latest installment in the Titan Series by Cristin Harber. This one focuses on the relationship between Rocco Savage and Caterina Cruz. Although you would be much better informed by reading the entire series, you may still enjoy the book as a stand alone if you don’t mind being left in the dark on a few details.  This book is all about revenge and romance.  Savage Secrets is action packed but it also has some very tender moments.  Be advised that some of the violence is intense and a lot more brutal than I expected.

On her tenth birthday, Caterina Cruz’s entire family was murdered by a man who would later be known as “The Dog Killer”.  He is believed to be so vicious that he not only kills your family, he kills your dog too.  Caterina’s life is saved by an American soldier who becomes very instrumental in her quest for revenge.  This quest for revenge becomes Caterina’s entire life.  As an adult, she becomes a contractor for British Intelligence and she is very, very good at her job.  A chance meeting with a disoriented Rocco Savage takes Caterina’s life in an unexpected direction.  Their relationship intensifies to a volcanic peak. Eventually, Rocco joins in her obsession to take down the “The Dog Killer”.  In addition, they also get tasked with eliminating a terrorist threat.

After reading several installments of this Titan Series, I would have to say that this is the best one so far.  It keeps you guessing as to what will happen next. Savage Secrets also ups the ante on the visual imagery so much so that I was taken aback.  This book has a lot of depth to it.  It shows two people that are meant for each other and endure some intense emotional and physical pain to come out on the other side.  You will not be disappointed.
