An interview with the lovely Robin Bielman, author of KEEPING MR. RIGHT NOW

USA Today Bestselling Author Robin Bielman lives in Southern California with her high school sweetheart husband, two sons, and one crazy-cute dog who loves to chew on everyone’s socks. When not attached to her laptop, she can almost always be found with her nose in a book. She also likes to run, hike, eat cupcakes, and dip her toes in the ocean. Writing is a dream come true, and she still pinches herself to be sure it’s real.

Places to find Robin Bielman:

Hi Robin.  Thank you for taking time to talk with me today.  Your latest book, Keeping Mr. Right Now has just come out.  What can readers expect from it?

Hi Kim!  Thanks so much for having me here today!  Let’s see, I think readers can expect a sweet, but sexy story with lots of summer fun and I hope, emotion that tugs at your heart.  I had so much fun writing this book!
Keeping Mr. Right Now is your first Red-Hot Bliss book and your second "in your face" action romance. (Big Kim smile.) Did you find it more challenging to write the sweet leave it to your imagination books, which you're known for or the "this is happens" books?

I’m so excited to have a Red-Hot Bliss! Writing sexual tension is definitely my favorite thing to do, but with these characters – Zane in particular – I couldn’t wait to share the smexy with the sweet.
You're starting to become a little dare-devil with your four wheeling and zip-lining.  Did you take your research for Keeping Mr. Right Now to the Pacific Ocean and try surfing?

I love, love, love the ocean and I have surfed (terribly, I might add).  In fact, the first scene where Sophie meets Zane for a surf lesson is based on my own surf lesson experience when I got tossed around the water pretty good.  I can still vividly remember how I felt!
As I said, dare-devil.  Let's talk characters.  What do you love about Sophie and Zane?

I love their comfort with each other – especially considering they are total opposites.  I love that each brings out things in the other that helps them grow and change.  And I love the teasing Zane does with Sophie.
They really do have a great relationship.  I love that it seemed to just come naturally to them.  What's something about Robin Bielman that your fans don't know?

Hmm… how about I’ll pretty much try anything once.  I think I’ve mentioned to you before, Kim, that the older I get, the less fear I have.
You have mentioned that to me.  And I still go, “Oh NO!”  You dedicated this book "To my three guys...".  I have to say, when I first read that I thought, "Awww, she dedicated her book to Harry." Then I proceeded to hit myself in the head, because I realized that wasn't who you were speaking about.  Does your husband and oldest son read your books?

LOL!  I will totally have to dedicate a book to my dog, Harry, now.  My husband has read some of my books, but not all.  He hears about all of them, though, and is awesome at helping me with plot ideas and characters – especially from the guy’s point of view.

Both my boys have zero desire to read my books, but my youngest recently gave a copy of Kissing the Maid of Honor to a girl friend of his who loves to read.  I thought that was sweet and at 16, I figured it was okay.
Your youngest son is really sweet.  Sixteen year old Kim would totally have a MAJOR crush on him.  Okay.  I have to stop, otherwise I will keep asking questions.  Thanks for taking the time to chat with me.

Thank YOU for the interview and for always being such a huge supporter of my books!  I appreciate it more than I can say. *hugs*

A temporary agreement neither could keep…

Brainy, organized Sophie Birch is no beach bunny.  In fact, she’s totally out of her element among the sun-bronzed crowd at a film festival in beautiful White Strand Cove. When a surf lesson introduces her to Zane Hollander, suddenly she's up close and personal with the world's sexiest surf star. But what can a great-looking, experienced athlete possibly see in a klutzy out-of-towner who’s never set foot in the ocean?

Zane Hollander's playboy reputation has never been a problem…until recently.  Now his management team wants him on his best behavior to entice a meaningful new sponsor.  Sophie Birch is the perfect girl to help reform his image.  She's genuine and respected—and their relationship is purely fictional.  But the more Sophie blooms under the beachy sun, the more Zane knows he'll just break her heart.  Because nothing's more important to Zane than following the tide.

  1. Hey, Kim! Thanks again for the interview and helping me celebrate my release!! <3 It's great to be here today!

(And I think a lot of girls have a crush on my son. He is super sweet - and romantic. It's adorable. He does have a girlfriend and the things he does for her just make me sigh.)

    1. You're welcome.

I seriously sigh every time I hear about your sweet son. But I promise to not call him sweet again. I have a feeling he may not really like it.

    2. Aww, I don't think he minds it! I tell him he's sweet all the time. :) Now, when he's a little older, that will probably change. LOL
