Wealthy New York City girl Claire Lindell isn’t looking for a Christmas miracle or happiness when she abruptly decides to hole up for the holiday at her godmother’s cottage in a little Yorkshire village, and lick her wounds from a near disastrous romantic decision.
After her car skids into a snow bank, Claire may have accidently found her perfect Christmas and the family and love she’s craved when she offers Noah Bradford of Ayesgill Farm help to push the back end of one of his sheep out of the icy mud, even if she’s going to ruin a brand new pair of Prada boots during the rescue.
What’s a little leather when love’s on the line?
REVIEW
I am a Yorkshire woman. How could I not read this book. I see it as a duty and Kate Hewitt has brought a sweet, touching, festive novella with characters to love and a setting that is beautiful, homely and everything that is rural Yorkshire. It's made me want to jump in the car and go for a drive to the Yorkshire Dales, because I'm lucky enough to do so.
I could've read a full length novel. I so wished it had been as it captivated me from the off. Yes everything is condensed and happens over a couple of days but it was paced perfectly and whilst some of Claire's inner monologue seemed a little desperate at the start, it soon became apparent why. But it was Noah that brought the moments that truly tugged on my heartstrings...he stole my heart, although I confess I have a bit of a thing for a literary farmer so he already had a head start.
It was a lovely little read. One of those perfect books to curl up with in front of the fire, with a mug of marshmallow laden hot chocolate whilst the Christmas tree twinkles in the background. Add A Yorkshire Christmas to your festive reading list, you won't be disappointed.
Whilst this book is part of the Christmas Around the World series, it is completely standalone and the series can be read in any order.
