He needs the kind of rescue only she can provide…
Glass artist Savannah Smith expected a marriage proposal for Thanksgiving—just not from her strong, silent, super-hot neighbor. But when misplaced mail and a wayward can of paint lands them in a compromising position right as her family arrives for dinner, they assume he’s “The One” she’s been talking about.
Then his family shows up.
Fate dealt a crippling blow to paramedic Beau Montgomery’s heart, and he isn’t about to put it at risk again. Except, with his mother crying tears of joy over his surprise engagement to the sexy little blonde next door, he can’t bring himself to ruin her “Christmas miracle.”
Somewhere between the paint can to the head and the chaotic family trip to the ER, Beau manages to talk Savannah into being his fake fiancée long enough to survive the holidays.
If, of course, they don’t fall in love first…
REVIEW
The Samanthe Beck I love so much is back with Emergency Engagement. From the very beginning, I was in my element with a hero and heroine I loved. When you’ve read all of an author’s books, you can’t help but have favorite characters all others get compared to. I’m a huge fan of Samanthe’s McCade Brothers series. I’m happy to say Beau Montgomery ranks up there as one of my favorite heroes.
The premise of Emergency Engagement isn’t anything new. It’s a fake engagement storyline. However, Samanthe has managed to add a little twist to the story. Beau Montgomery and Savannah Smith are characters you can’t help but love. They bring heat to their relationship, but also a friendship they weren’t expecting to find.
Beau has a tragic past that stops him from moving forward. His world isn’t completely dark and bleak. He just doesn’t seem to live his life to the fullest and doesn’t make true connections. Beau doesn’t think a happy-ever-after is in the cards for him. Savannah is a shining light and positive force in his life.
Savannah is a strong heroine who takes the hits life throws at her and keeps moving. After the supposed love of her life admits he wants her to be the other woman, she has to figure out how to move on. Savannah is funny and caring and definitely ready to find her happy-ever-after, with or without a significant other.
Beau and Savannah meet or at least finally have a true conversation in a romantic comedy heaven kind of way. What happens next is what romance dreams are made of. I have to admit the story brought tears to my eyes. I could feel the characters’ pain, making it easy to rejoice in their happiness. The secondary characters are great as well. I loved Savannah’s sister, Sinclair. But I am already in love with Beau’s best friend, Hunter, who happens to be the hero of the next book. The Love Emergency series definitely has the makings to make it one of my favorite series.
