Lynnette Austin's Somebody Like You Guest Post & Giveaway

Tour Schedule

Who is Lynnette Austin?
My first book was born as I drove across Oklahoma on a trip from Wyoming to Florida, with two eleven-year-old boys and way too much luggage stuffed into the very tiny backseat of a Porsche 944. Although that book, thankfully, is safely hidden away where no one has to see it, my seventh and eighth books, the last in my Maverick Junction series, will be released this year. I was raised in Pennsylvania's Allegheny Mountains, moved to New York, then to the Rockies in Wyoming. Presently my husband and I divide our time between the beaches of Florida and Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountains. I’m a recovering middle school language arts teacher and am now writing full-time and loving it.

Lynnette also writes under the name of Lynnette Hallberg.

By Lynnette Austin
A Maverick Junction Novel

A Runaway Heiress...
If saving her grandfather's life means giving up the social whirl of Boston for the rustic charm of Texas, socialite Annelise Montjoy is more than happy to make that sacrifice.  Determined to find the long-lost relative who holds the key to her grandfather's recovery, Annelise will have to hide the truth about who she really is until she earns the trust of the Maverick Junction locals.

A Rough and Tumble Cowboy...
Cash Hardeman thought he'd have all the time in the world to find the right woman...until he discovered that his gold digging step-grandmother will inherit the family ranch if Cash doesn't marry by his 30th birthday.  With the deadline just around the corner and no prospects in sight, Cash knows it's only a matter of time before he loses everything.  But when Boston beauty Annie blows into his life, Cash can't help but wonder if she's the answer to his prayers.

Today, Lynnette stops by to discuss her current release, Somebody Like You, the first book in her A Maverick Junction Novel series.  Thanks for stopping by Lynnette.

He’s cowboy boots; she’s champagne flutes! Rough-and-tumble cowboy Cash Hardeman drives an old blue Cadillac, with his homely mutt Staubach riding shotgun.  Oil heiress Annelise Montjoy has a PhD from Harvard and loves the city life and designer clothes.  But when the cowboy meets the heiress things heat up.  My newest release, Somebody Like You, is set in Maverick Junction, Texas, and is the first book in my Maverick Junction series.  I had so much fun spending time with the two of them!

What exactly do I love about Annelise and Cash?  Other than the fact that Cash is a drop-dead handsome Texas cowboy—who wears a pair of jeans as though they’d been created for him and him alone? (smiles)

I love Annie’s bravery.  Prim, proper, and pampered, she rode her big, black Harley from Boston, Massachusetts, to Maverick Junction, Texas, to save her grandfather’s life.  A lot of people would tell you they’d do that if necessary, but only a few actually would.  Annie would and did.

I love her smart mouth.  Her generosity.  Heiress to a fortune, Annie could sit back and enjoy the good life.  Instead, she gives of herself.  Of her time.  She’s not afraid to work.  Clueless as to his new ranch hand’s true identity, Cash has her mucking out stalls.  And she does it without a single complaint.

And Cash.  What’s not to love about him?  Well, actually, like the rest of us, he has his faults.  But when he makes a mistake, he’s not afraid to admit it.  I like that about him.  He’s proud; he doesn’t crawl easily.  When it comes to Annie, though, he decides she’s worth a little groveling.  He even cooks dinner for her.  It takes some coaching from his sister, but he manages to pull it off.

What I love most about both of them is their ability to love, to recognize that special person when they find him or her.  I love that they’re so real and am so grateful they spent time with me and gave me a chance to know them.

Thank you, Lynnette.  They sound like a nice couple, or couple to be.  Oh, wait!!!!  Lynnette wants to have a giveaway.  She’s offering a $25 Amazon or Barnes & Noble gift card as a grand prize at the end of her blog tour.  Comment and answer Lynnette’s question, What trait do you love in your hero and heroine? Then follow the Rafflecopter instructions.  Click HERE for a list of Lynnette’s tour schedule.

  1. Lynnette, What trait do I admire in my h/h? Two actually, in equal measure. Humor and courage. Well, maybe I'll qualify that a bit, courage first, always, then spiced uup with a twinkling eye. After the bad guy's been taken care of.

    1. I never realize how important humor is until my husband manages to me laugh during stressful times.

  2. Both of those are so important, Jean. There's something about a man who can make us laugh. So sexy!
