Susan Hatler INTERVIEW & GIVEAWAY for Save the Date

Kristen swears off men, but temptation swoops in when her sexy friend Ethan starts flirting with her.

Kristen knows men hide things. Case in point, her last boyfriend turned out to be married. Just like anyone else, Kristen is devastated. However, since Kristen evaluates people for a living, her ex’s duplicity has her searching for a new career as well as swearing off men.

Touring history museums with her sexy friend Ethan doesn’t count, because he has a girlfriend, and has only shown friendly interest in Kristen. He even helps with her career counseling tasks. Although Kristen has a secret crush on Ethan, spending time with him is safe. Until she discovers he’s actually single. Gasp. And now he’s flirting with her, too.
Suddenly, Ethan is way too dangerous. Not to mention tempting. Sure, he seems like sixty shades of perfect, but how’s a girl with bad judgment supposed to detect what skeletons he has in his closet?

His eyes captured mine, and my breath caught in my throat. He had that intense and passionate look he gets when he's completely focused, except, this time, it was on me. Held captive in his gaze, my worries faded away and the only thing occupying my mind was Ethan. The air thickened between us, and I felt an emotional cord pulling me toward him.

Suddenly, an elderly couple pushed up next to us, their loud voices bringing the world around me back into focus. Everything seemed messy and difficult again.

“I'm fine, Ethan. But thanks for asking.” I quickly stepped away from him, and turned my attention to the next exhibit. When I felt him come up beside me, my heart pounded against my chest in long, steady beats.

He leaned toward my ear. “I have something I want to show you.”

“Oh, really?” My mind zipped to all kinds of inappropriate images.

The corners of his mouth lifted. “It's a huge secret I've never shown anyone before.”

Okay, unless Ethan was a virgin, we were definitely thinking of different things. “Tell me.”

He turned so we were facing each other, his eyes sizzling with excitement. “First, you have to promise never to tell another living soul about this.”

Talk about piquing my curiosity.

“I promise,” I said, glancing at his pockets, which seemed empty. “Where is it?”

With a mysterious smile, he clasped his hand around mine, and led me toward the exit. “My place.”

I gulped. His place?

This was so not a good idea.

Unable to resist, I hurried along beside him.

Hi, Susan.  Thank you for joining me today.  Please tell us a little about who Susan Hatler is.
Glad to be here!! I’m a girl who loves to smile, can often be found behind my keyboard, and who wishes we could live forever...although that still wouldn’t be enough time to write all the books going through my head. (Smiles)
Please tell us about SAVE THE DATE and the Better Date than Never series.
Save the Date is book #4 in the Better Date than Never Series. This series is about a group of women, who lean on each other for support as they work their way through today’s dating world to find love.
Tell us what you love about your characters Kristen and Ethan.
Kristen is a strong woman who grew up in a household where her parents argued every night. She becomes a marriage and family counselor to help couples communicate better so their kids can have a happier home. She strives to do everything right to keep her life calm, and is devastated when she finds out her seemingly perfect boyfriend is married. Ethan is Kristen’s friend, who is sweet, intelligent, and thoughtful. He’s also patient, waiting until Kristen is ready to start dating again before making his move. Although, maybe he waits a little long, because Kristen is sure he doesn’t think of her that way. (Winks)
What’s your favorite part of a romance novel to read or write? (The beginning, the first meeting, first kiss, getting to know each other, first love scene, big fight, HEA or something else?)
Anything that makes me melt, and have to read the scene over and over. (Smiles)
And my last question for you is….What’s your guilty pleasure?
Staying up way too late reading or watching romantic comedies. Always exhausted the next day, but it’s worth it. (Smiles)
Thanks for having me today. Happy reading!! (Smiles)

Thank you Susan.
