REKINDLED DREAMS by Linda Carroll-Bradd ~ Character Interview & Giveaway

When museum curator Vena Fenton returns to her small Montana hometown, she’s forced to live under the same roof as Finnian Quaid, the star of more than one teenage fantasy. Finnian is now an environmental lobbyist, making a bid for senate, and is as dreamy as ever.
Finnian needs a more settled image if he wants to get ahead in the polls. In order to do that, he needs a wife. With Vena living under his roof, his problem seems solved. As the romantic sparks fly, there's more at risk than Finnian's political aspirations. Can they keep their eye on the prize, or will their growing love derail them both?

Today I have the pleasure of being able to sit down with Vena and Finnian from REKINDLED DREAMS.

Hi Vena and Finnian thank you guys for joining me today.

Finnian: We’re happy to be here, Kim.

Vena: Speak for yourself, Quaid. (blushes)

Um.  Okay.  So you guys are the hero and heroine in Linda Carroll-Bradd’s latest book, REKINDLED DREAMS.  How do you guys feel about having your lives out there for the world to read about?

Finnian: We’ve had a little bit of practice because Vena has already made the print and television news.

Vena: I still maintain that photo was a set up. Public exposure is not my thing, and I cringe a bit at the number of personal details everyone will learn from this novel.

Vena, when you left Dry Creek did you ever think you would return to it?

Vena:  Once I had my degree, I knew I’d need to work in a large city to become a museum curator. Then after the family home was sold, I didn’t have a reason to come back. Until the circumstances that initiated my two-week working vacation.

What was your first thought or reaction to learning that you were going to be under the same roof as Finnian?

Vena: Immediate memories of teen-aged fantasies flashed through my mind and I was thrilled. I think I even got goosebumps.

Really?  Wow.  Finnian, did you know you were the object of Vena’s dreams years ago?

Finnian: (Gives her an intense look.) Nah, I thought she was a cute-enough kid, a friend of one of my sisters.

At what point did you guys know that pretending to be a couple wasn’t good enough anymore?

Vena: Probably when he slid a ring onto my finger.

Finnian: (His eyes shoot wide.) Really, that early? I’d have to say the second night she woke me from a deep sleep.

Hmm.  That sounds interesting.  Tell me…What is it about the other that you love so much?

Vena: (She places a hand on his thigh and gazes into his eyes.) His loyalty and support. Those qualities meant so much at several points in our story.

Finnian: Her spontaneity and determination to complete her project. I admire a woman who keeps me guessing.

What can readers expect from the book and you guys in the future?

Vena: To meet a yummy hero who is compassionate and willing to be flexible in his expectations. And to follow along as we become reacquainted and tumble into something so much more than friendship.

Finnian: To be surprised at the crazy situations Vena gets herself into. (Laces his fingers through hers and smiles.) I know I was.

Vena: Oh, and I hope we show up in future stories of Dry Creek, Montana.

Linda HAS to have you guys in future stories.  Hey guys thanks so much for spending some time with me.  Good luck and take care.

Finnian: Thanks, Kim. We’re off to complete the comprehensive paperwork for our grant.

Vena: (Leans her head on Finn’s shoulder.) And plan a wedding.

As a young girl, Linda was often found lying on her bed reading about fascinating characters having exciting adventures in places far away and in other time periods. In later years, she read and then started writing romances and achieved her first publication--a confession story. Married with 4 adult children and 2 granddaughters, Linda now writes heartwarming contemporary and historical stories with a touch of humor from her home in the southern California mountains.
