Samanthe Beck's FALLING FOR THE MARINE Guest Post & Giveaway

Pretending to be in love has never felt so sexy.
USMC helicopter pilot Michael McCade has two goals: Get his damn back into alignment and keep his nose clean until his commanding officer clears him to fly again. The doctor-recommended massage therapy seems like a necessary step toward returning to the cockpit, but when his too-hot-to-handle neighbor, Chloe Kincaid, turns out to be his masseuse, he strays from the straight and narrow in a major way.
Chloe Kincaid is looking for a simple, no strings attached, ego-boosting hook up. But when her positively panty-melting neighbor, USMC Major Michael McCade, (aka “Major Hottie”), shows up on her massage table, she lets desire get the better of professionalism. Now they’re pretending to be engaged to avoid a whole lot of unanticipated consequences of a momentary lapse in judgment. But can a girl who avoids attachments at all costs fake an engagement to a straight-arrow soldier without falling hard?

Chloe tipped her head and grinned up at him—an extremely sexy grin. “You remember when I excused myself to use the restroom after Stan and Loretta toasted to our long, happy future?”
“I didn’t really have to use the restroom.”
“You didn’t?”
She shook her head slowly, still smiling like a schoolgirl with a secret. “Nope. I had a wardrobe issue to attend to.”
“Uh-oh. Wardrobe issue?”
“My thong was bothering me, if you must know. It bothered me all evening. I think the darn thing shrank when I washed it and, well, it was a little bit too tight.”
A mental picture of her standing in the Hardings’ powder room with her skirt hitched up, struggling to get comfortable in a too-tight thong suddenly filled his mind. His body reacted instantly and predictably. He moved his hand from the small of her back to the curve of her butt.
“Anything I can do to help?”
She raised her chin and brought her mouth a fraction of an inch closer to his. Her breath feathered over his lips. “I solved the problem. I went ahead and took it off.”
He swallowed and ran his palm over her backside. He could feel a lot through the soft fabric of her dress, but he couldn’t feel any panty lines.
“Am I a naughty girl?”
Holy shit, she was standing there on his commanding officer’s doorstep with no panties on. Parts of him that had zero interest in toeing the line told him to reach up under her skirt, and…

Getting Lucky

Hi Kim, and thanks for having me at Read Your Writes Book Reviews to show off my latest Brazen baby, “Falling for the Marine”! I had more fun than ought to be legal writing this second book in my McCade Brothers series. Pairing big, bad, alpha USMC Major Michael McCade with free-spirited, traveling massage therapist Chloe Kincaid created so many crazy opportunities for these opposites to attract.
They start out as neighbors, but due to a reckless decision, poor timing, and some very bad luck, they are caught in an extremely…ahem…compromising position. Michael ends up asking Chloe to move in with him and pretend to be engaged, to help them both out of a tight spot.  Commitment-phobic Chloe reluctantly agrees, because the ruse will be temporary—just ‘til her employment agency can place her in a new gig. With a little luck, she’ll be back to her footloose and fancy-free lifestyle in a few weeks.
Trouble is luck’s been a bit elusive for Chloe lately. Thus she begins an effort to get lucky…er…attract good luck, (her efforts to get lucky were what landed her in hot water in the first place)!  Initially, she tries her lucky shoes—a pair of four inch black patent leather stilettos that make her feel like she’s going places even when she’s standing still—and when Michael comes home to find her vacuuming his apartment wearing a tank top, cutoffs and the lucky shoes, he has to admit he’s feeling luckier. He proceeds to make her feel like the luckiest girl in the world, as measured by screaming orgasms, but, alas, the shoes don’t bring the longed-for call from her agency.
Chloe next tries feng shui, after discovering the layout of Michael’s apartment funnels all the Chi (positive energy) straight down the toilet. What luck results from rearranging the furniture and d├ęcor in accordance with ancient Chinese tenants? Well, she’s lucky Michael doesn’t kill her when he comes home to discover his apartment completely rearranged.
I don’t think it’s too much of a spoiler to tell you, in the end, Chloe realizes Lady Luck was smiling on her all along, just not in the ways she expected.
How about you? Do you or someone you know subscribe to any tried-and-true rituals, schemes or formulas for getting lucky? Salt over the shoulder? Blow on the dice? Wear the lucky bra?  Do share!

Beach bum, book junkie, and award winning author of sexy contemporary romances, Samanthe recently signed with Entangled Publishing to write three novels for their Brazen line!
Sam was transfixed from an early age with any tale featuring a handsome prince, a great dress, and, of course, the all-important kiss, and eventually aspired to write her own happily-ever-afters. Naturally, she became a lawyer. The legal world heaved a sigh of relief a few years ago when Samanthe retired from law to take the plunge as a writer.
When not living the glamorous life of a romance author (i.e., chained to her computer), Samanthe keeps busy with the care and feeding of her extremely patient prince-charming of a husband, a not-so-patient ball of energy known as their son, a furry ninja named Kitty, and Bebe, the trash talkin’ Chihuahua. Their love, support, and willingness to eat Pizza Hut three or more times a week enables Samanthe to pursue her literary dreams.
