5 Star Review ~ LOVE IN SIGHT by Holly Gilliatt

Looking for love is easier if you can see where you’re going.

Like most people, Jason’s looking for that elusive happily-ever-after. But although he’s good-looking, athletic, funny and charming, he’s starting to realize that his white cane isn’t exactly a chick magnet. When he meets Heather, he can’t believe such a sweet, smart, beautiful woman is falling for him. Best of all, she doesn’t seem bothered by his occasional run-in with a low-hanging tree branch or inability to color coordinate. They soon become inseparable. But as they begin to negotiate their life together, they encounter obstacles even his white cane can’t navigate.

While Jason’s dreams seem to be slipping from his grasp, he’s forced to face his insecurities and accept who he is…and maybe see things more clearly than ever before.

Love in Sight is a novel about coming to terms with what you can live with and what you can’t live without.

REVIEW

This book was fantastic!  I had to keep reminding myself throughout that this is only the second book written by this author.

Heather is a high school teacher going to graduate school.  She's asked out by a classmate, Jason, and he is blind.  She never thought about him other than being the blind guy in her class but after having coffee with him several times after class, she falls for him.

Jason, has been blind since he was 14 due to a genetic disease.  He's also a high school teacher so has something in common with Heather.  He loves the way Heather smells and finally gets the courage to ask her out on a date, other than just coffee after class.  He falls hard for her.

Their relationship is exciting and rocky.  He has a hard time having to depend on anyone due to his blindness and really hates having to ask Heather's help with anything but she's a trooper and is more than willing to help him out whenever he needs it.  She doesn't perceive this as a weakness like he does.

They start talking about their future together and Heather expresses concerns over what would happen when/if they have children.

There are so many ups and downs in their relationship that you can't help be go along for the ride and see where it takes you.

This book was incredible.  I'm still thinking about it even though I finished it several days ago.  I love books that make me keep re-reading excerpts in my mind days afterwards.  I highly recommend to everyone and if I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would.
