Before the end of the night, they’ll break all the rules.
For just one night, Georgia Taylor wants to forget about her demanding job and the everyday struggles of being a single mom. Her track record with men is pitiful, but that’s fine because her responsibilities don’t leave room for love anyway. The new online dating site is perfect for what she’s after.
But Georgia’s plans are crushed when Brent Turner, aka Sexy Dad and father of her daughter’s classmate, turns out to be her internet date, therefore, eliminating any possibility for a night without consequences.
All of Brent Turner’s honorable intentions fly out the window when he sees highly strung “Super Mom” waiting for her date at the bar. Determined to win Georgia’s trust and show her a good time, their no-strings evening promises to become so much more…until, that is, she discovers what he's really up to.
REVIEW
Sometimes a book just talks to you and insists that you read it. That’s exactly what A Night of Misbehaving did to me.
Georgia Taylor and Brent Turner are acquaintances because their daughters go to the same preschool. Brent has the nickname of “Sexy Dad” among the mothers at the preschool and Georgia just doesn’t give him the time of day. Even a smile is too much for her.
Things change for these two when Brent shows up at a bar pretending to be Georgia’s date. With the help of a coin and a “wild card” call, things between these two get better than they could ever imagine. Sometimes you just have to throw caution to the wind and follow your gut and/or heart.
While I did enjoy this book, I was left wondering about a reality, which I guess I wasn’t supposed to pay attention to. Georgia and Brent are both single parents. Georgia’s ex isn’t in the picture, but Brent’s ex-wife is. I just see all kinds of problems with the triangle this relationship makes. I’m thinking a little awkward, if not uncomfortable, because at some point Georgia and Stacey will cross paths at preschool. I would have preferred if Stacey wasn’t in the picture at all.
A Night of Misbehaving is a nice read with some memorable moments. I did find myself wanting more of the book. This is a happy for the moment romance. You have to use your imagination to assume there’s a wedding and a little one on the way. I know novellas are super hard for authors to write, but I think Carmen did a wonderful job. She now has a new fan.
