Never mix business with one night of playful, sizzling pleasure...
If lawyer Angie O'Hare needed another reason to hate New York City, this would be it. Locked out of her room and stranded in the hallway. Wearing only a towel. Lovely. But then, rescue arrives—in the form of the wickedly hot, funny guy in the penthouse next door. Angie is so relieved that she ignores her usual buzz-kill tendencies, and agrees to have a drink with Mr. Sexy Salvation...
But things don't stop at just a drink. Or even a hot make-out session.
Cue one night of hot, ultra-x-rated sexy time. No names. No personal information. And the next morning, Angie sneaks out, returning to her prim-and-proper life, every hair in place. But New York City isn't done with Angie yet. Because her meeting that morning is with CEO Jed Worth... whose bed she did everything but sleep in last night! And Jed isn't the sort of man to take “conflict of interest” as an answer...
REVIEW
Entangled’s Brazen line is known for its hot sexy heroes and sex scenes requiring a shower or two to cool off. While I liked Tempting the CEO, it doesn’t live up to the Brazens I've read in the past. There are love scenes but they aren’t Brazen worthy.
Tempting the CEO is told in first person from the viewpoint of Angie O’Hare. Angie is an attorney from Detroit who is in New York City to broker the sell of her client’s business to Worth Industries. Jed Worth is the CEO of Worth Industries who arrives in NYC to help with the purchase of another company, since it appears the other companies’ attorney is making things harder than necessary.
It’s midnight and Jed arrives at his hotel room to find a beautiful woman in a towel at the ice machine. As luck would have it, the beautiful woman (Angie) gets locked out her hotel room and Jed offers to let her stay in his room, until someone can come up to let her back into her room. The two start to flirt and flirting leads to more. To both of their surprise, the next morning, they discover they are on opposing sides of the purchase negotiations.
I really liked Angie and Jed as characters, but I would have liked to have known a little bit more about them. Some would say that Jake was an alpha, I just saw him as being arrogant; which apparently I find attractive. Angie, for her part, tries really hard to not be her mother so that affects how she comes across to people. Again, a little more background would have been nice.
Tempting the CEO is the start of the Sleeping with the Enemy Series. For me, there wasn’t a character standing out that made me want to read their story. In fact, only stupid Bob (Jed’s attorney) and Cassie (Angie’s best friend) were mentioned as secondary characters.
Rating: 3.5
