To save their companies, they’ll plan the fake wedding of the century...

Meet the bride...

Daisy Willows is a wedding dress designer who longs for her own happily-ever-after. In the meantime, she’s struggling to keep her business going even as she covers her mom’s increasing medical expenses. So when a bridal show expo owner offers to help her out, she can hardly say no. And all it takes is Daisy pretending she’s back with her playboy ex. And that they’re engaged...

Meet the groom...

Cole Benton works for his father’s bridal magazine, which is on the verge of downsizing. All he really wants is a crack at an outdoor lifestyle magazine, and if he has to fake-marry Daisy to make it happen, he’s definitely in. Now Daisy and Cole are playing up their fake engagement, shopping for rings, and even kissing upon request. All of which is makes it a whole lot harder to remember that their big white wedding is a big white lie...

REVIEW
Second chance love and engagements of convenience both form part of my staple diet of romantic tropes.  The Wedding Hoax contained both and I pretty much read it in one sitting.

Wedding dress designer Daisy Willows' business is suffering from the recession and, with her Mum's medical bills mounting, she needs investment.  Cole Benton is in the same boat with his bridal publication plus he's desperate to prove his worth to his complete arse of a father.  When an investor comes forth, he offers to help both Daisy and Cole.  The catch is they need to fake an engagement and marriage.  Not so simple when he was the man who broke her heart when things started becoming serious between them.

"She'd wanted forever.  He'd wanted right now".

Daisy and Cole brought plenty of what I love to find in a couple.  She's a firecracker and doesn't hesitate in going toe-to-toe with him, yet has a wonderful compassionate nature, whilst he's arrogant but charming and occasionally thoughtful with it.  The sniping, bickering and innuendo between them was fun and flirty and whilst Daisy blows hot and cold more frequently than the average weather system, she wasn't unlikeable with it in any way. Frustrating at times yes, but based on their history, who can blame her.  Yet, despite their very differing views on commitment, they get one another and the attraction and chemistry between them still burns.

"Bite your lip like that again, and I'll bite it for."

As it's based over a 6 month period, there were skips in time and whilst there were a couple of occasions when I wanted that bit more, on the whole it flowed well.  There isn't a huge amount of sexy-time in it, but what we do get is filled with heat and passion and with some great secondary characters (I loved how much I despised Cole's Dad and his brother), it was a thoroughly enjoyable read.  Heather Thurmeier is a new author to me and if this is any indication of the type of novel she writes, I will without a doubt read more from her in the future.
