Annie Seaton is one of those authors I discovered by accident. She writes captivating stories which leaves the reader wanting for more. Annie is an Amazon best selling author and has over a dozen titles to her name. Please welcome Annie Seaton to the blog.
Hi Annie. Welcome to Read Your Writes Book Reviews. I’m SO excited you could stop by today.
Kim, Thanks so much for having me by again. I love your blog!
Thank you very much. First off, tell us about Half Moon Bay. What is it like and is this a real city or a fictional one?
Half Moon Bay is a real area (and town) located a little way south of San Francisco. I visited there to do my research and fell in love with the area. I have even been interviewed by the Half Moon Bay Review! The only fictional part is the quaint little town of Nebbiton where my characters live.
Can you tell us a little bit about Georgie Sacchi and Liam Wyndham?
Georgie Sacchi has always wanted to be married and have the whole wedding thing, but has been unlucky in love. She has decided she has been let down just one too many times so she has bought a round-the-world air ticket and is about to set off on the adventure of a life time. It’s independence for her!
Laim Wyndham has moved to town (there is a past connection there but I won’t spoil the story). He is writing an adventure book about the Himalayas and wants peace, quiet and privacy. But will he get it in a place like Half Moon Bay where everyone looks out for each other and the red-haired lady carpenter will not leave him in peace to write?
Was there anything about these two that surprised you?
Liam tried so hard to be private but he just can’t resist the invitations of Thelma and Mitzi to their garden party. Georgie is well aware of the Matchmaking 101 tricks they have up their crocheted sleeves but her reaction surprised me too!
Guarding His Heart is the third book in your Half Moon Bay Series. Is this the final book in the series?
Yes…sigh. I hate leaving my lovely characters too. Sadly, this is the final book of the trilogy.
If you could pick one character from the series to spend the day with who would it be and why?
Oh now that is a hard question. I would love to watch Sienna make her frogs, and I would love to watch Jack sculpt, but I think I would get on so well with Liam…he is an author too, and gorgeous to look at!
In the time I’ve known you, you’ve written way too many books for me to count. You write contemporary romance, romantic suspense, paranormal romance and historicals. Why so many different genres?
I guess it’s because I love to write stories irrespective of where or when they are set…and I love building different worlds. I think my favorite genre will always be time travel. Hot Rock is one of my favorite books ever and Davy, the hero, is to die for!
You recently started your own publishing company, I believe. What made you decide to do that and have you learned anything from this venture, which helps you to be a better writer?
It isn’t really a publishing company: it is more a service to help out independent authors who don’t have the time or the knowledge to publish their own books. That being said, I am very particular and only take on quality stories. The beauty of it is, we all share the promotion and reach a wider audience of readers.
What’s a perfect day for you?
Oh, easy…The beach, the beach, the beach…preferably with my family, a good book and a nice bottle of wine as the sun sets.
What’s next for you?
In April, Entangled Publishing will release my next Indulgence book: Ten Days in Tuscany as part of the Men of the Zodiac series. I researched this book in Tuscany last summer. I know… a hard life!
But what I am most excited about is the release of my first print book by one of the trade publishers, Pan MacMillan in late June. Kakadu Sunset will be available in bookshops in Australia and New Zealand, and as an e-book internationally.
Thank you so much Annie for taking the time to talk with me and my followers.
As always a pleasure and thanks for having me!
Some get into your heart.
Bestselling author Liam Wyndham needed an escape, and Half Moon Bay, with its small town charm and beautiful ocean, is the perfect place to hide out from the scandal surrounding his estranged dead wife. A place where he can enjoy his writer's block in sweet isolation. But all of his plans to become a surly recluse disappear when carpenter Georgie Sacchi marches into his house…
Georgie wants an adventure, and she has a plane ticket that promises her everything she needs—excitement, independence, and a way to escape the memory of her last ruined relationship. Still, she has one last job to complete before she can leave the country. The last thing she needs is a recalcitrant author with a gorgeous face (and a hot body) distracting her from her plans.
But life doesn't always give you what you think you need…
