If Noelle wants to move forward with her life, she must make a deal with the devastatingly gorgeous, broody millionaire Aiden. REVIEW
The Bachelor’s Promise brings together two characters with a shared history, both in need of a fresh start and redemption.
Aiden Kent and Noelle Rana first met as teenagers when their parents were dating and moved in together. To say Aiden detested the Rana family is an understatement. But when Noelle needed Aiden’s help, he was there for her. A budding friendship began until the death of Aiden’s mother. Due to events involving her family, Aiden cut Noelle out of his life and in the process broke her heart. Six years have passed and Noelle is ready to reclaim her life, but she needs Aiden to keep the promise that he made to his mother on her deathbed.
What Naima Simone has given readers is a true story of fighting for the love of the person who holds your heart. Noelle and Aiden are characters that I love for their strength, conviction, and courage. Neither truly believes in love and they definitely don’t trust each other. Noelle may be a pixie, but she’s tough as nails and when push comes to shove, stands up for herself.
I have to admit that immediately I saw no way these two could be a couple and have a happily-ever-after. Aiden’s hatred for Noelle’s family runs deep. While Noelle knows her father and brother aren’t perfect, they’re the only family she has. I found timing of certain events in the past to be a little unclear, adding to some frustration and confusion on my part. I ultimately liked the ending, however I’m still not sold on how the family issue was resolved.
