Chloe Reiser sees dead people, and now that she’s back in Moonlight Cove to make a fresh start, she’s done with keeping it a secret. But how is she going to tell her more-skeptical-than-ever high school crush that his dead father has an important message for him?
Once Upon a Love Letter marks my first time reading Jill Jaynes. I loved the premise of the book and couldn't wait to read it.
Chloe is a medium and has the ability to see dead people. She helps them get closure with those they left behind, so they can move on to the afterlife. In Once Upon a Love Letter, Chloe is asked to help her high school crush, Thomas find the lost love letters of his parents.
The story is short so there isn't a lot of character building, but you are still able to get a sense of who the characters are and what they believe in. Chloe and Thomas are both very likeable, making you want to see how the story will play out for them. At times, it seems as if the story is rushed. I found the conflict between Chloe and Thomas was resolved way too easily. This is a sweet romance, light on the romance part.
I found Once Upon a Love Letter to be an enjoyable read but fell short of making me fall head over heels in love with it. I think that if the story was longer and Jill was able to show a love story playing out on the pages, I would have been more satisfied with this story.
