Come home this Christmas to...
CHRISTMAS TOWN, TENNESSEE
Where everyday dreams come true!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ginny Baird continues her heartwarming holiday series...

Christmas Town doctor Kurt Christmas has loved high school guidance counselor Savannah Livingston his entire life. While he's had plenty of opportunity to meet beautiful and accomplished women, playboy bachelor Kurt hasn't become seriously interested in any of them. He still pines for the stunning redheaded rebel with emerald-green eyes, who took his breath away at sixteen. When Kurt and Savannah reconnect in Tennessee at Savannah's sister's wedding, that old flame reignites and Kurt finds himself hoping for a brand new start. Yet Savannah's current circumstances in Miami threaten to hold her at bay. If Kurt could write a prescription for anything, it would be to win Savannah's heart. But will love be enough to conquer the secrets that stand between them?

Ginny Baird’s Christmas Town series focuses on the small, charming, make-believe town of Christmas Town, Tennessee. Town legend says that after World War I, Lena Winchester wanted to inspire people and boost the economy of the town. She created what’s known as Virginia Cookies, in hopes of inspiring goodness, hope, and love. Decades later, her great-granddaughter Hannah now makes three variations of the cookie, with a little tweaking. The Charity cookie inspires good works, while the Clemency cookie fosters forgiveness, and the Commitment cookie inspires true love. People in Christown Town and beyond swear by these cookies.

It seems as though when someone new comes to town for an extended amount of time, they find their true love and never leave. This most definitely has something to do with the commitment cookie. However, in the case of Kurt Christmas and Savannah Livingston there seems to be more at play.

The Doctor Orders Christmas is a second chance sweet romance. The characters of Kurt and Savannah are endearing. Kurt at thirty-five years of age seems to have an old world charm about him. Savannah seems to want to move on with her life, but she still carries the past and its secrets with her. While Kurt wants to reconnect with Savannah, she can’t seem to let go of the hurt Kurt caused her all those years ago. I enjoyed watching these two navigate their way around the past to find a future together. I loved the funny, playful, magical moments. What I didn’t like was Kurt and Savannah’s families, as well meaning as they were, pushing them to be together. I just felt that if they were meant to be together, they themselves would have found their way back to each other, which they did.

The Doctor Orders Christmas is full of surprises. While the story is about love, forgiveness, and letting go of the past, it’s also a little heartbreaking. This is a standalone read, however some of the secondary characters might make more sense if you were to read the previous books in order.
