The Cutting Edge meets Friday Night Lights in a sizzling new hockey romance from bestselling authors Kelly Anne Blount and Lynn Rush.

Willow
Figure skating was supposed to be my whole world. But one unlucky injury and now I’m down...but I’m definitely not out. I just need to rehab—a boatload of rehab—and who’d have thought I could do it on the boys’ hockey team?

Of course, the infuriatingly hot captain of the team seems to think I’m nothing but sequins and twirls. What’s a girl to do but put him in his place? Game on.

Brodie
Hockey is my whole world. I’ve worked my tail off getting my team in a position to win the championships—hopefully in front of major college scouts, too—so what’s a guy to do when a figure skater ends up as our new goalie?

Of course, the distractingly sexy skater thinks I’m nothing but a testosterone-laced competitive streak. And surely she’s only biding her time to heal, then she’s gone. Game over.

Hi! Thank you so much to everyone at Read Your Writes for featuring Brodie and Willow from IN THE PENALTY BOX! We are so excited to be here and can’t wait for you to get to know our hero and heroine a little bit better!

Name: Brodie “Wind” Windom *

Age: 17

Physical Description: 6’3”, 170 pounds of muscle. Shaggy brown hair and dark brown eyes that have amber/copper flecks.

Occupation: Student, star hockey player - Right Wing is his position.

3 likes in no particular order: Hockey, The Rock, Willow.

3 dislikes in no particular order: Liars, Puck Bunnies, Tomatoes

Drink of choice: For sports, it’s Gatorade or BodyArmour, but hanging out at the coffee shop, Cold Brew coffee.

Favorite food: Corn Dog with Tabasco sauce on it.

Favorite dessert: Ice cream

Favorite song: Stand in the Fire by Mickey Thomas. It’s an old one, but from a hockey movie, so it’s golden.

Favorite color: Black

Choice of transportation: My black Tahoe.

Most prized possession: Hockey puck signed by Sidney Crosby

Favorite way to unwind: Skating alone on Jackson’s Pond or at the ice den, breathing in the cold, cleansing air.

Favorite way to spend an evening: Movies with Willow or my best friend, Preach

Best friend: Preach. His real name is Ryan Armstrong, but we call him Preach because of his faith. He’s super positive and all about helping the people around him.

Best memory to date: Mom and I, after I pulled off a hat trick, just her and I went to get ice cream at one of my favorite spots in a nearby town. Usually I dig hanging with my friends after something like that, but now that she's gone, killed by a drunk driver, I look back at that memory and it's now my favorite.

If you could have a do-over, what would you do differently? Wow. That’s a loaded question. My mom was killed by a drunk driver, so that’d be my do-over of choice. I’d give anything to have Mom around.

Where do you see yourself in five years? Hopefully playing professional hockey for the NHL!

Most romantic gesture: One time, for a girl I was dating, I set up a table for two in the middle of the ice rink at the ice den and put candles on the table. Sure, I brought in fast food, but still. The ice rink was empty, the lights were low...It was awesome.

Words to live by: Never give up.
