Naima Simone has done it again with Secrets of a One Night Stand, the second book in her Billionaires of Boston series. She has managed to incorporate all the feels. The series revolves around three half brothers discovering each other and coming together after the death of their birth father. Cain Farrell (Vows in Name Only) is the oldest and heir apparent of the Farrell fortune. Achilles Farrell is the bi-racial middle son. He’s an ex-con and outcast of the wealthy class and society. Kenan Rhodes is also bi-racial. He’s the youngest and the charmer of the trio. He was adopted as an infant by a wealthy Boston family. It’s Achilles’s turn to fall in love and his story was written to perfection.

Secrets of a One Night Stand starts three days after Achilles finds out his birth father’s will stipulated that he and his brothers had to work together and run the family company, Farrell International. Not only do the brothers have to work for the company, but they also have to live in Boston for a year before they receive any proceeds from the will. If one of the brothers doesn’t comply, then none of the brothers receive anything. Being thrust into a world he wants no part of, Achilles finds himself at a bar, where he meets a stranger and shares a memorable one-night stand. “Here’s to strangers meeting for a night.”

Three months after meeting the woman of his dreams, Achilles comes face to face with her again. This time, Mycah Hill is interviewing for the VP of Operations at Farrell International. At twenty-nine, Mycah is the oldest daughter of the wealthy Hills of Boston. She’s a black woman in a field dominated by older white men. She’s worked hard to get where she is and she doesn’t want people to think she slept her way to the top. This is why she doesn’t acknowledge having met Achilles and later asks him to not disclose their night together.

The two are from different worlds, but they can’t deny their attraction and passion for one another. And passion is what they have in spades. I loved these two because they are so tethered to their pasts and present, but are desperately afraid to break free. They’re afraid to be vulnerable and open up. I loved that they had a willingness and desire to fight for the other. Achilles has this great ability to read Mycah and situations around him. People tend to look down on him or simply disregard him, but he is so much more than he shows the world. Achilles is a good man, who doesn’t know his worth. It takes Mycah and his unborn child to make him discover all that he truly has. These two were really perfect for each other.

I can’t wait to read the third book in this series, The Perfect First Date, featuring younger brother Kenan. He is a charmer and he knows it. I have a feeling there is so so much more to him than he allows people to see, even his brothers. His story is a friends-to-lovers/fake relationship romance. I’m definitely expecting it to be fun. Plus, I think his older brothers will have something to say about him falling in love.
