He’s Texas. She’s Hollywood.
…and together they’re playing with fire!

Dionna Reed is in Royal, Texas, to help plan her starlet bestie’s wedding. But when the bride and groom bail, all the planning falls to Dionna…and the too-hot, too-sexy best man who’s convinced Texas can outdo Hollywood for this wedding event of the year. Well, bring it on, cowboy.

Tripp Noble has one week to convince city-slicker Dionna that Royal is the perfect place for his cousin’s wedding—all the while keeping his hands off the gorgeous maid of honor. But cowboys don’t always follow the rules…

I have to give credit to Reese Ryan for introducing me to Harlequin's Texas Cattleman's Club series and Royal, Texas. The series has been around for 14 years, spanning 18 subseries and over 100 books. All while allowing readers to be introduced to new authors and fall in love with countless main and secondary characters.

That being said, readers first met Tripp Noble in Reese's His Until Midnight (his sister Tess' story). He then appeared again in Secret Heir Seduction, where I met and fell for him. In that story, Tripp was an easygoing flirt who I knew needed his own story. In A Cowboy Kind of Thing, the first book in The Wedding series, Austin Charles Noble III aka Tripp meets and falls in love with Dionna Reed.

The Texas Cattleman's Club: The Wedding series centers around the wedding of Hollywood actress, Ariana Ramos, and Royal's own bestselling author Xavier Noble. When the filming of Ariana’s latest movie gets extended, Xavier decides he might as well also extend his world book tour. The problem is the two have already rescheduled their wedding twice and they don’t want to reschedule again. Also, the two want to get married in Royal but haven't made any wedding decisions. Xavier asks his cousin Tripp to help with the wedding planning because Tripp knows him well and knows what he likes and doesn’t. Plus, Tripp knows Royal and can make connections easily. Ariana asks her best friend and business partner Dionna to go to Royal and see if it can indeed meet their wants and visions for the wedding. That all sounds easy enough, except Dionna looks down on Royal, doesn’t think it can deliver a wedding befitting Ariana, and thinks Ariana is sacrificing her dream wedding to get married in Royal to make Xavier happy. Add to that, Tripp and Dionna are polar opposites in so many ways. Dionna views Tripp as the “town flirt who enjoys flying by the seat of his pants”. Tripp sees Dionna as a “Ms. Do-It-by-the-Book, let’s get all of our ducks in a row before we move forward.”. This whole plan has disaster written all over it. Until Tripp truly puts on the charm and shows Dionna that he’s a deeper person than she gives him credit for.

I honestly loved Tripp. I knew he had more than surface appeal. Dionna is/was a little uptight, but managed to loosen up. She’s afraid of love and trusting the wrong person with her heart. She’s also afraid to admit that she had Tripp pegged all wrong. I loved watching these two fall in love. Dionna helps Tripp to see that he can be more than he thinks he can be. Tripp shows Dionna that he’s someone she can count on.

Reese has definitely set this series up nicely. At least one of the main characters from each future book is mentioned so you get an idea of who they are and what they’re like. I seriously can’t wait for more opposites attract, fake relationships, and a surprise pregnancy.
