DeleteQuestion for Author--What inspired you to become a writer?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for asking this Sohamolina. The idea of crafting creative gifts that connect and unite people, even without really knowing each other, has always fascinated me. Songs, words, and art are so powerful in general. I’m amazed every day by how a specific message can be experienced between the lines in totally different ways and perspectives. Since discovering music and writing, nothing has ever made me happier. Knowing that somewhere out there, someone is meant to vibe with all this and that one day they will sing their heart out with me to these words and the tracks that come from them. Maybe you too? :)
DeleteSounds really good.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, Sherry! For now it’s words and reflections about their meanings but soon there will be sound, one song at a time. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on both :)
DeleteThe book sounds like a fascinating read. Love the cover!
ReplyDeleteThanks so so much, Pippirose! If you're into approachable, modern poetry like lines and emotional pop music unfolding, I really look forward to your thoughts and, one day, to singing your favorite songs from it together at the top of our lungs! :) To me, the many colorful notes on the cover also symbolize the variety of characters, personalities, people all united by music. You know that feeling when a certain song plays in a room full of perfect strangers and everyone instantly feels a connection, sometimes even starting to sing along by heart? That's exactly what I love so much about art.
Deletelooks like a fun one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Daniel! I hope you will give it a go and if so, I would love to hear your thoughts about it :)
DeleteSounds Great
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sohamolina! So glad that it resonates with you. Happy reading, excited to hear your thoughts :)
DeleteWhat do you hope readers will take away from this book?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this thoughtful question, Sohamolina!
DeleteThis work was made to resonate with people through sonorous art at the earliest stage possible.
You know, normally music artists create albums behind closed doors, maybe occasionally sharing some behind-the-scenes after everything is ready and available to stream. I wanted to offer a glimpse into my mind and soul to everyone open for it at the earliest stage possible. I thought that sharing poetic lyric excerpts from my pop songs in progress, paired with little insights about their meanings, would be a great way to introduce myself and genuinely connect from the beginning of the story in an original, special way.
I hope this book will start conversations, spark creativity, inspire people to reflect about their own feelings, and maybe encourage them to be part of this unique music unfolding adventure.
Music has always been there for me in such a meaningful and empowering way, so I'd be more than glad and honored if I could become a music companion to everyone enjoying this publication.
That's why I also created the Intense Inside Club, which is free and can be signed up from my website. That's the place where I share insights about the evolving journey, little surprises, and more with the kindred spirits who like to witness all this as it unfolds.
I'd be thrilled if you're in, I would love to sing together your favorite lines one day :)
Question for author-What's the strangest or most interesting thing you had to research for this book?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this insightful question, Sohamolina! Since this work is made of lyric excerpts from my pop songs in progress, it did not require much traditional research like for authors in other genres.
ReplyDeleteBut I was very curious about the innovative aspect of the project. It was interesting to discover that, even though poetry and song lyrics are close, no book seems to have offered something like this before :)
What is your most prized book?
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful question, Jamie! If I absolutely had to name a book (because my inspiration truly comes directly from life and emotions), it would probably be Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I found it special because of its simplicity and compact form. As a highly sensitive, nature lover, the title speaking of a bird really intrigued me. And then I saw how much meaning was conveyed within such a small, compact publication. It shows how resonance can sometimes reveal itself in the most straightforward and unexpected ways. 😊
DeleteWhat would be a similar book for you?
Do you have any standards for your writing?
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for asking, Jamie! Yes, I do have standards for my writing. I’ve even written an artist manifesto, and on my website, there’s a section dedicated to my concept and vision of preserving artistic identity.
DeleteIn short, I aim to use positive language, avoid filler words, minimize repetition (except in choruses, since I’m mainly a songwriter), and focus on emotional storytelling with minimalistic, relatable verses.
Here’s the core of my manifesto:
I believe silence is a treasure to intentionally protect, not a sign of stagnation. While many rush to fill every moment with content or sound, my releases unfold like tender plants carefully, deliberately, and rooted in deep purpose.
My art grows from consciousness, shaping holistically from the impulses I share little by little. Each song becomes a vibrant, lush landscape presented with intentional calm pace because meaning and connection deserve time to grow, not to be overshadowed by the next fast thing.
This is not just fleeting content for scrolling feeds. It is an ongoing, sonorous, heartfelt adventure to witness and participate in with your whole being.
I chose to begin with a book, not a beat. This introductory collection, WORDS TO THINK. OR TO SING., is where my music takes root. Each quote a seed. Each lyric a bloom. Each release a carefully cultivated moment.
Through my boutique flagship label, INTENSIA MUSIC INTERNATIONAL, I build musical awareness and authentic artistry. I curate every step: the concept, the sound, the visuals, the timing.
I’ve also created the INTENSE INSIDE CLUB, an emotional movement and a thoughtfully dedicated online space for my community, the Intenswes, to belong and engage, where I share messages, thoughts, or tiny surprises with those who deeply resonate with my vision.
I distance myself from the recurring digital sensory overload. My work is a moment to feel, reflect, and truly immerse oneself in art.
This is more than an artist presentation or just another campaign to check. It’s a genuine sanctuary of creative unfolding in progress. A living, developing music story to be discovered, experienced, and celebrated together.
And you are personally, wholeheartedly invited to be part of it. :)
What was your favorite creation?
ReplyDeleteThank you for your question, Jamie!
DeleteI’m not sure I have a single favorite excerpt or song in progress. The whole book, as an innovative way to connect, inspire and begin a meaningful journey together, is probably my favorite creation overall.
But if I had to choose a few pieces from this work that hold special meaning for me personally, they would be Cocoon, Melody and Unstoppable.
Cocoon is about becoming oneself, personal growth and trust within a constantly changing environment, both inside and out.
Melody touches on the solitude and moods that often come with being a highly sensitive, reflective but creative person, someone with the deep desire to express themselves and find likeminded people, even when it is hard to do so.
Unstoppable is about believing in oneself and staying focused despite all the noise around. And you know, if our thoughts ever get too loud or overwhelming, we can always drown them out with music :)
What was your favorite creation?
ReplyDeleteBesides Words to Think. Or to Sing. itself, which serves as an invitation to my mind and soul as a pop music artist in the making, I guess the planet, plant-powered food (especially air fryer fries and blueberry oat vanilla no-cheese cake), music, and the internet are among my favorite creations in the world. I love nature, and when people focus on connection and shared vibes instead of pointing out what might be different.
DeleteMusic has this magical ability to instantly unite strangers through a single favorite song, and the internet allows us to find each other and talk about that.
As the book tour is coming to an end, I just want to say thank you again for these great conversations :)
I hope to welcome you soon to the free Intense Inside Club. You can easily sign up through my website, where I’ll continue sharing messages, insights, and little surprises about the book and the songs yet to come from these excerpts.
This looks like a fantastic read. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Michael! I’m so glad you like it. And the best is yet to come. The read is really just the beginning :) If you enjoy the book, I would be more than glad and truly honored to become a music companion to you.
DeleteI hope I can count you in for the journey we will share together from now on through the development of the songs that will grow from its excerpts. :)
This looks really good.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I hope it will also sound good to you, as there will be music between these lines, one song at a time :) You know, all these excerpts carry secret melodies :)
DeleteDid you like English in school?
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy English in school. It felt like being somewhere else for an hour and a great opportunity to discover other places and cultures. It didn’t feel much like lessons to me. I always wished to express my feelings and ideas, to communicate in more than just one language :)
DeleteHas writing always been your dream job?
ReplyDeleteIf writing means connecting people with similar vibes and creating a community of passionate, deep souls and kindred spirits united by art and music, then yes, that’s exactly what I was made for and have been preparing myself for all along.
DeleteI’m a (song)writer but also a voice that would be more than glad to accompany you through life. Get ready to sing your favorite lines with me at the top of our lungs :)
What was your biggest writing accomplishment?
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is another very good one, Jamie. Thank you so much for asking!
DeleteI probably do not have a special achievement to name, besides the book itself.
But I think just being here with you today, as I am, brave enough to share my pop songs in progress through this work, putting myself out here and revealing glimpses of my mind and soul to create a deeper and meaningful connection from the very beginning of the story, all through my own professional infrastructure and vision, despite being highly sensitive and only a part-time extrovert, might be the biggest accomplishment so far :)
Describe your dream writer retreat.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this thoughtful question, Jamie :)
DeleteFor me, creativity is not connected to a place or a particular setup. While I think some workshops or talks with other writers can be really interesting and inspiring, I don’t need a change of place, different time frames, or full focus to keep things going or to finish projects.
Being in my organized, familiar environment actually helps me plan more efficiently. I guess this might also be because I’m mainly a songwriter rather than a typical book writer. You know, sometimes I’m cooking or about to sleep or doing something totally unrelated, and suddenly my inner voice whispers something to me: a few verses, a fraction of a melody, or a meaningful message for a song. When that happens, you just want to catch that feeling and idea right away, so everything else becomes secondary for a moment. Maybe music artists are more used to this. Or maybe it’s just me.
What would you prefer, total focus away from home or the comfort and flow of a known space? :)
