In the close-knit town of Auburn, Oregon, Andi Clark’s therapy animals bring comfort to the community, especially during the holiday season. As the annual Christmas Craft Bazaar draws near, Andi agrees to set up a Petting Zoo with her beloved animals, bringing smiles to the faces of children and adults alike.

But when a young girl seeks solace from Athena, Andi’s therapy dog, after witnessing an unsettling scene behind the sleigh, it marks the beginning of a much darker holiday. As the town gathers for the Tree Lighting Ceremony, a scream shatters the festive atmosphere. Cocoa, Andi’s loyal Border Collie, pulls her toward a chilling sight: a woman standing over the lifeless body of the girl’s mother, strangled with Christmas lights.

Determined to help the grieving girl and her town recover from the shock, Andi, her therapy animals, and her niece, a county deputy, take it upon themselves to investigate. As they uncover secrets and untangle clues, they stay one step ahead of the new sheriff and worry that the killer lurking in their midst could be someone they know.

Hi Andi. Welcome to Read Your Writes Book Reviews. How are you?
I’m doing well. Thank you for having me. Now that I’m back living where I grew up and close to my family again, I’m learning to adjust to being a widow.

I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. Please introduce yourself to readers so that we can get to know you better.
Hello everyone. My name is Andrea Teresa Weber Clark. Everyone calls me Andi. I’m 43. Having lost my husband two years ago, I’m still learning how to navigate life without him. It was after his death that I learned about therapy animals. I had a dog that came into my life and showed me how she could ease my grief and settle my nerves. I researched and learned about therapy animals and started my own business of taking therapy animals to hospitals, retirement homes, and schools. I also share my animals with people one-on-one when they need something to hug and talk to. I work part-time for my family’s business, Weber Wool. We raise sheep, clip the wool, spin and color the wool, and then make knitted and woven garments out of the wool. The whole family is in the business. I’m the bookkeeper. I don’t have the creative talents of the rest of my family.

Can you please tell us about some people we’ll meet in your story?
I have therapy pets. Lulu, a dapple brown and black female Chiweenie with long hair. Cocoa, a brown and white female border collie who herds the other animals into the van. Athena, a Golden Retriever/Pyrenees mix. She keeps watch over the other animals. Sparky, a male mini donkey who likes to steal things. Cupcake, a female black and white pygmy goat, who eats anything she can get between her lips. Flopsie, a female brown and white Holland Lop bunny. Chicklet, a female checkerboard brown and white silky chicken with crazy head feathers and eyes that hide behind her feathers, but she sees everything.

My niece is a deputy with the County Sheriff’s Office. My younger brother and my mom tend to get caught up in my determination to prove someone is innocent. I also have a friend who is blind and sees auras. She helps with insights into what people are really like.

Tell me about a defining moment in your life.
A defining moment in my life was when my husband of eighteen years was killed in an accident while we were visiting Ireland. I had to decide if I would continue solving international murders as we had done as a couple or if I would return home to Auburn, Oregon. I decided to return to my roots.

What’s your most prized possession?
My most prized possession is Cocoa, who helped me through my grief when my husband died, and a necklace my husband gave me when we’d finished our first assignment.

Why do you feel the need to put on your sleuthing hat and investigate murders?
Because I helped my husband solve murders and money disappearances around the world, I know I can interview people and find the truth. I like to see justice served, and sometimes I have to step in and help the local law enforcement to get the right person.

What can readers expect from Merry Merry Merry Murder?
They can expect to read about family, cute animals being helpful, all the foibles of small-town living, along with generational clashes. I am determined to find the truth for a young girl, even if it means ruffling my older sister’s feathers and wading through too many suspects.

Andi, thank you so much for your time.
