Hero Profile & Giveaway ~ Beau Montgomery from Samanthe Beck's EMERGENCY ENGAGEMENT

Emergency Engagement (Love Emergency, #1)
by: Samanthe Beck
Series: Love Emergency
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 15, 2016
Source: Publisher ~ Entangled: Brazen

He needs the kind of rescue only she can provide…

Glass artist Savannah Smith expected a marriage proposal for Thanksgiving—just not from her strong, silent, super-hot neighbor. But when misplaced mail and a wayward can of paint lands them in a compromising position right as her family arrives for dinner, they assume he’s “The One” she’s been talking about.

Then his family shows up.

Fate dealt a crippling blow to paramedic Beau Montgomery’s heart, and he isn’t about to put it at risk again. Except, with his mother crying tears of joy over his surprise engagement to the sexy little blonde next door, he can’t bring himself to ruin her “Christmas miracle.”

Somewhere between the paint can to the head and the chaotic family trip to the ER, Beau manages to talk Savannah into being his fake fiancée long enough to survive the holidays.

If, of course, they don’t fall in love first…

If you follow the blog, then you know I’m a HUGE fan of Samanthe Beck. She has a new book out this week called Emergency Engagement.  It’s funny but also packs heat.  I love that the hero, Beau is sweet and is good with his hands and other things.  He has a really good heart.  But he’s also dealing with a tragedy.  Savannah is the one woman who finally manages to get through to him.

I begged Samanthe to come on the blog and provide a hero profile of Beau.  And she agreed!!!! (Squeal!!!)

Without further ado, please welcome Samanthe Beck and Beau Montgomery.

Hi Kim! Thanks for having Beau and me here at Read Your Writes to celebrate the release of Emergency Engagement.
Name: Beauregard “Beau” Montgomery
Age: 28
Occupation: Paramedic
Physical Description: Tall, dark and broody.
Likes (3) in particular order: (1) the way a certain neighbor’s body parts bounce when she descends the stairs; (2) the way a certain neighbor’s hips sway when she goes upstairs; (3) the way a certain neighbor puts her lips around a long, stiff rod and blows…glass.
Dislikes (3) in no particular order: (1) Disco; (2) thin walls; (3) surprises
Relationship Status: Widowed
Typical Friday Night: Pretending not to hear a certain neighbor’s southern bluesy voice as she sings in the shower, and pretending not to inhale the scents of vanilla and cinnamon infiltrating his apartment from a certain neighbor’s apartment while she bakes one of her homemade apple pies.
Most romantic gesture: He can’t tell you, but I’m pretty sure it’s going to make you bawl your eyes out.
Drink of Choice: “I don’t always drink whiskey, but when I do, I drink it with Savannah.”
Favorite Food: Smashburger, despite what it does to Hunter--the guy he has to share the rig with.
Favorite Song: Before He Cheats, by Carrie Underwood, (or maybe that’s his least favorite song).
Choice of Transportation: Ambulance…as long as he’s driving.
Boxers or Briefs: Whatever’s clean.
Best Memory to Date: An EXTREMELY memorable Thanksgiving!
If you could have a do over, what would you do differently? “If I could have a do-over of the Daughter’s of Magnolia Grove Christmas Eve dinner, I’d jump on that, and be a better man in the face of a big surprise.”
Is it possibly to survive tragedy and find happiness again? “I’m living proof it is, but you have to man up and take the risk. Savannah was worth the risk.”
Words to live by: “My friend Hunter says, ‘You gotta have faith in happy endings. Otherwise, what’s the point?’
Thanks again for putting Beau, (and Emergency Engagement), in your spotlight!

  8. I can't even remember much about my last breakup, it was over 12 years ago. I think it might have been Pain by Three Days Grace, or at least it was a favorite song of mine back then.
