The cost of the repairs is beyond Hope’s means, forcing her to stay in the tiny mountain town for an extended period.

Frightened and broke, Hope finds a part-time job, thanks to the family who owns the guesthouse. Hidden beneath her strong work ethic and cheerful demeanor, Hope conceals a private mystery. A secret she can’t reveal.

As the Christmas season nears, the charming town and its annual holiday festival captivate Hope. She fantasizes about staying in Silver Falls, where life is idyllic. As she goes about her daily routine, the family at the guesthouse suspects there’s something she’s hiding. In a moment of weakness, she divulges her secret.

A special man offers his support and works to help Hope see that romance can be more than heartaches and shattered dreams. Will an offer of help destroy her life and all she cherishes, or will it be the gift she needs to triumph over her past?

A Season for Hope is a charming story about the kindness of strangers and finding hope where you never expected it. Cozy up with a holiday read sure to warm your heart.

A Season for Hope marks my first time reading Tammy L. Grace. The blurb reads like a Hallmark movie, but isn’t as predictable as you would expect.

Hope and her young son, Jake, are on an adventure. For the past two months, the two have been traveling from Ohio to parts unknown. A week before Thanksgiving, their car breaks down in the small idyllic town of Silver Falls. Needing a place to stay for the night, the two become guests at Silver Lake Guest House. Unfortunately, the car repairs are more than Hope can afford. Luckily for them, the owner of the bed and breakfast, Dottie Fisher, has taken a liking to them and is in need of some help around the place.

Hope only expected to be in Silver Falls for a day or two, but a month later she’s still in town. “I think Hope’s here for a reason.” She and Jake find themselves being treated like members of the family by Dottie and her sons Drew and Grant. The family suspects Hope is keeping something from them. They do their best to respect her right to privacy, but Drew is like a dog with a bone. He keeps digging until he finds answers. “People come into our lives for a purpose.” To Hope’s surprise, Drew turns out to be a huge ally and is able to help her out tremendously.

I liked A Season for Hope. The characters are all loving and caring. They have no problem helping out a stranger in need. This was a sweet romance that surprised me. I think I would have actually loved the book if the author had provided more details on the characters and the town. One of my pet peeves is knowing how old characters are (especially the main ones) and the location of the story. For whatever reason, Tammy chose to reveal the age of Hope and Jake as well as the state the story takes place in around the 69% mark of the story. I truly feel that if I would have known this information beforehand, I would have looked at Hope a little differently and been better able to visualize the landscape. But all and all, A Season for Hope was a truly feel good story about friendship and love.

    1. I was shocked to find out the age of the characters. I'm glad you like that the reveal came late into the book, but I definitely didn't. I really hope you do read this book. Even though I didn't like certain parts of it, it was a good book.
