Can two cute kittens bring four human hearts together?

Single dad and successful builder Alex Peña promises his daughter, Vicki, a rescue kitten for her February 1st birthday. But, when they arrive at the shelter, little Vicki begs to keep two! There are only two kittens left in a litter, and Alex’s heart goes out to the small pair. When he agrees to let Vicki adopt both cats, Alex has no clue that a certain single mom and her child have already set their sights on the same tiny tabbies.

Melanie Brooks spends her days as an accomplished interior designer. Off the clock, she’s a caring, yet sometimes frazzled, single mom to six-year-old Lisa. When Lisa asks for a brother-and-sister kitten duo for her birthday, Melanie caves, never guessing that their adoption paperwork will get lost—with the kittens going to another family…

Alex, who is all about compromise, is convinced there’s a way to make this work. Melanie, who doesn’t do messy situations, is not so sure. Once the kitty-matchmaking-mischief begins, will Melanie and Alex be able to resist falling for each other? Or, will this turn out to be a very purrfect Valentine’s for all?

Ginny Baird is back with a Valentine read that’s sure to leave a smile on your face. A Very Purrfect Valentine is a magical story that makes you believe in fate. This is the story of two single parents who are sure they aren’t ready to tackle love or even date again.

All Vicki Peña and Lisa Brooks want for their 6th birthday is a little kitten. When the girls separately visit their local animal shelter with their respective parent they’re saddened that there are only two kittens left. The girls can’t stand the idea that by them only getting one kitten the other will be left alone. They convince their parent to let them have them both. After the mandatory 48 hour waiting period, the girls and their parents arrive at the shelter to pick up the kittens. When an administrative mishap occurs, the parents work out a solution, which will leave everyone happy. It turns out the families are neighbors. The girls will each get to keep a kitten and they will have girl and kitten playdates.

All the playdates result in Vicki’s father Alex and Lisa’s mother Melanie spending time together. Over the course of weeks, they actually get to know each other pretty well. The kittens, sweetly named Sugar and Spice seem to make sure they help their adult humans realize they are all meant to be one big happy family. It doesn’t hurt that Vicki and Lisa try in their own little way to push their parents together.

If you are a lover of kittens and all of their little antics, as well as adorable little six years, then this sweet Valentine’s Day romance read is for you. While the story culminates on Valentine’s Day, it can easily be read at any time of the year. I’m partial to imagining this as a Christmas romance.
